I think that at least if the mouse is completely sitting at one place, not moving by a pixel, the width of the tabs should stay fixed, so that multiple clicks may be enough to close many tabs one after another.Luboš Motlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17487263983247488359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8982037438137564684.post-73245465485351127282010-05-25T17:59:33.641-07:002010-05-25T17:59:33.641-07:00@kabyesiza
I think what happened is I came across...@kabyesiza

I think what happened is I came across your very similar post on another forum or two, almost verbatim.

Your post essentially explains how to make a "portable Chrome" so that it runs from a portable directory (such as a thumb drive) and can be taken to any machine.

While having a portable version of Chrome is nice, it only solves ONE problem. Portability.

Nowhere on this thread is anyone complaining about Chrome not being portable (unless I missed it). So, I'm not sure what your "solution" actually solves, as it pertains to this thread.

Any of the problems I (and others) are dealing with are known problems with the latest DEV build of Chrome. The dev channel (assuming you're subscribed to it, and not the BETA or STABLE) has regular problems (though rarely severe). For instance, in the latest dev, the tabs resize immediately when closed, rather than waiting for the user to mouse off of the close button. This was a feature that previously existed that was either intentionally or accidentally removed. No amount of making Chrome portable is going to make this functionality any different. Of course, installing the beta or stable version of Chrome would work, but because this is the "Dev Channel Update" thread, nobody would be here if they didn't specifically want the dev releases.

So, if your post is not spam, it's just off topic. It would be like giving everyone great tips on relieving the pain symptoms of arthritis when the forum is about Google TV. While the arthritis tips might be useful, they just belong in another forum.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05513910453292285558noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8982037438137564684.post-74366808990495459202010-05-25T17:36:51.294-07:002010-05-25T17:36:51.294-07:00the only problem I am having so far with 6.0.408.1...the only problem I am having so far with 6.0.408.1 is the bookmark manager. I just get a blank tab, a search entry field, the Bookmark Manager collapsed menu "v" link and when I click on the menu, I get nothing but a narrow pull down with a few horizontal bars and no text.

The bookmark bar works fine and synching to Google Docs seems to be working fine when I add a new bookmark through the bookmark bar.

I have several extensions installed. All appear to be working and nothing obvious if there is an extension that could be creating a conflict with the bookmark manager.

Cheers,
NeilNeilMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01823452563291281242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8982037438137564684.post-69067108148971279352010-05-25T12:38:10.942-07:002010-05-25T12:38:10.942-07:00@: BOB
