It happe...@Craig: Chrome has auto-update built in. It happens in the background and you might not even be aware that its happening, but Chrome updates itself.

The issue is that there are two or three channels (depending on your OS) of Chrome each of which auto-update within their channel. The channel's have to do with release quality: the dev channel is the alpha or nightly build channel, which is what we're talking about here. Once you've downloaded and are using the dev channel version, Chrome still auto-updates, but only within the dev channel. It will never update to a stable or even beta version (you have to download the stable channel for that).

So all that said, since here we are on the dev channel, it makes a little bit of sense why the download link isn't advertised on the web. Google wants most users on the stable channel.

Bugs also make a bit of sense here, don't you think? We're testing their development versions. OF COURSE IT WILL BE BUGGY. REPORT THEM DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT THEM.

If you want a stable version of chrome, and you google "Google Chrome", and you click the first link, there's a big fat download button: click that.ElasticThreadshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01346398812671438438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8982037438137564684.post-50315780195094590942010-03-18T11:18:47.295-07:002010-03-18T11:18:47.295-07:00With this version of Chrome, every time I ask YouT...With this version of Chrome, every time I ask YouTube (or Hulu) to switch to full screen, the Flash plugin crashes.

(WinXP, Flash v.10)Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03475954969382696608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8982037438137564684.post-59386009128125285742010-03-18T09:56:59.957-07:002010-03-18T09:56:59.957-07:00And finally, I just Googled the new Chrome release...And finally, I just Googled the new Chrome release, the one you're blogging about here? Why not put the link up in your blog post? Google, Google, Google. Your business plan stinks.
I know you'll probably delete my posts because you don't like customers true feedback.
This is the reason I'll never spend a dime on your products. I will never buy your phones of anything you release. I predicted know about how you pissed off your Nexus One customers because of no customer support. There is no Bookmarks Menu per se. So if I import my bookmarks everything gets put in the Other Bookmarks folder rather than being in the actual menu itself. This makes it impossible to sync bookmarks across browsers and retain the folder structure.
