Dev Channel Update

The Dev channel has been updated to 17.0.928.0 for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome Frame.  This build contains the following updates:

All
  • Updated V8 - 3.6.6.3
  • Prompt the user if they want to cancel downloads occurring when the last Incognito Window of a profile is closed.
  • Panels are enabled by default (extensions-only, “Tasky” in Web Store is one example)
  • Adjustable margins supported in Print Preview.
  • Mouse Lock “Allow” permission (given via a prompt) is now saved in content settings per domain.
Linux
  • Fix the multi-profile selection bubble when using a chrome-theme [r107495]
  • Optimization work to make the GTK+ tabstrip do less redundant painting. Please report any regressions, especially with complex themes. [Issue: 100803]
Known Issues
  • NaCl will not run on Windows
  • Indexed Database: IDBDatabase.transaction() - passing [] as first argument is no longer supported per specification [Issue: 99690]
  • Indexed Database: Databases will fail to load previously created object stores [Issue: 102537].
Full details about what changes are in this build are available in the SVN revision log.  Interested in switching release channels?  Find out how.  If you find a new issue, please let us know by filing a bug.

I was testing Canary on level 17 and lots and lots of crashes just in Gmail when archiving or deleting an Email - more than I ever had. Hopefully more stability on .28 version within level 17.

With Chrome 16 i had V8 3.6.6.6 and with Chrome 17 there is V8 3.6.6.3...I wonder why they go backwards.

Looks like the + has gone from the new tab button again. I think this is a poor design for new users as there's no indication what it does any more, at least with the + it is more intuitive.

@Sladen: same here.
On Ubuntu Natty, download window shows some lines of plaintext, visible CSS

Example:
body { background-color: white; color: black; margin: 10px; } .header { overflow: auto; clear: both; } .header .logo { float: left; } .header .form { float: left; margin-top: 22px; -webkit-margin-start: 12px; } html[dir=rtl] .logo, html[dir=rtl] .form { float: right; } #downloads-summary ....

etc etc...

After updated to this version, Chrome crashes very often. Besides, I was asked to verify search engine change (I didn't see that before), but Chrome will crash if I do so. Hope this will be fixed soon.

So it just updated to
17.0.928.0 dev-m but the horrible problem that recently surfaced, namely that nothing will download, e.g. torrent files- they just immediately say "interrupted".

This problem only surfaced recently, I think it was last update, so I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed this update.

Getting some seriously bad password-related regressions here with this latest dev build. Essentially it's not filling in the password fields of anything properly, even if you type it! That makes the browser rather unusuable...

I'm receiving Gmail sign in errors related to symbol characters in my password.

This same error persists when I try changing my password to use other characters (after previously changing it in another browser) where I end up receiving a complaint stating that my password needs to contain a-z A-Z 0-9 or common punctuation, which it does.

I've since reverted to the current stable (15.0.874.106) version and both in the stable and in other browsers I can log in and change my passwords just fine. So it's seems to be a 17.0.928.0 dev issue for me

Chrome 17.0.928.0

For some reason, I can no longer add words to the dictionary. This might have broken in a previous update, but this is the first time I've noticed it. Here's to hoping the bug's fixed soon.

Also, the \+\ is missing again. My cursor feels lost without it. It's a small design change, but it causes so much subconscious anxiety.

I can't seem to paste into password fields anymore. If I do the field isn't acknowledged, it just says "incorrect password" when I attempt to login.

This was a useful feature for me because I randomly generate my passwords, so none of them are the same or even easy to type in.
