Stable and Beta Channel Updates

Google Chrome has been updated to 6.0.472.63 for all platforms on the Stable and Beta channels.  This version contains a fix in V8 for direct loading of global function prototypes [V8 r5483].

More details about additional changes are available in the SVN revision log.  If you find new issues, please let us know by filing a bug. Want to change to another Chrome release channel? Find out how.

Wrench->Bookmark manager seems broken, it's completely empty. Is it just me, or should I open a new issue about it?
I'm using Windows XP SP3 32 bit.

Amazingly it auto-updated without a hitch this time. Unfortunately Flash videos either don't play or play haltingly.

My package manager has been informed of an update but the package does not exist, I keep getting 404 Not Found error. The address my manager is looking up is:

Indeed there is no package there :(

You can disregard my last comment, package is there now and update went off without a hitch.

Sorry, but I hate the latest changes to Chrome. You guys have really de-railed Chrome as a tool at my office. Because of the security additions you made somewhere beteen v5 and v6, I can no longer use Chrome to connect to my Google Docs, Reader, Analytics, Webmaster Tools, and I'm sure anything else behind https. Don't get me wrong, I applaud improvements in security for any browser. However, my office is a locked down environment to begin with. I have the protections I need. It would be nice to be able to turn off some of the security features, or at least mimic what I'm able to do or access with Internet Explorer. I can access my Google docs/reader/Analtics/etc with IE. Go figure. IE is so clunky and slow (IE 8, that is), but then again I know I'm preaching to the choir. Also, you moved the bookmark star in the address bar which really throws me off. It's just really annoying. Again, it would be nice to have a choice for things like that. Something like a setting in Options that says:
__ (checkbox) Google Chrome version 5 look and feel

Anyway, that's my $0.02 worth. I still love Chrome and use it religiously at home. The latest changes really slow me down at work.

Stable version's PDF plugin doesn't display text in the following PDF (however, Foxit Reader displays the text correctly).

Please correct the fault.

The click-n-hold on the back button with the drop-down menu is my new favorite feature. I just realized Chrome could do that. I'm not sure how long that feature has been available, but I love it. Thanks!

I am having the same problem as Heval since the last update... links are taking much longer to load... pages are freezing and not loading altogether...

how do i rollback to the previous version?

this is like firefox all over again... used to be smooth and sweet then a bad upgrade it started crashing a lot like IE and it has never been improved....

Don't follow the same path google chrome... dump the changes made in this upgrade otherwise they will continue to be present in every future upgrade and chrome will become worse and worse...

I really do wish sometimes that bored developers would realised that there is a lot to be said for the old saying.... 'if it ain't broke... don't fix it!'

Unnecessary upgrades by bored developers do more harm than good... as is the case with this upgrade.

I do not understant why Chrome has made it so difficult to work with bookmarks.

Earlier I could just click SHIFT-CONTROL-B (if I recall correct), to see and browse in my bookmarks.

Now it has gotten so incredibly awkward to work with bookmarks.

Please revert to old intuitive way to work with bookmarks!

Except for that Chrome rocks, big time. Sorry Microsoft... you are just toooo lateeeee.

Suggestion for "Other bookmarks" folder.

Since you seem to be quite adamant about not allowing us to delete the "Other bookmarks" folder, here are some suggestions:

- Allow renaming of the folder
- Hide/Remove from Bookmarks toolbar
- Change the ugly folder icon to a star or something.

IMO, the thing is an eyesore that takes up space.
