I decided to install the beta and am having issues with images not loading, etc. and would like to move back down to the previous version. Is my only choice to uninstall and in doing so, will I lose my preferences?

Any help is welcome...

Seems to be solid, still no Print Selection option, but still sails along!

I do however see a white shadow under the words in my bookmarks bar...like a shadow or 3-D look?

Thank you finally fixing the flash leak. Let's hope you guys won't break it again in the next release.

Wondering if I'll ever get to see my bank account info using the dev or beta versions....standard version is fine. Getting really tired of installing/uninstalling at every release just to find out. Dev version works perfect on every other site though.

Print selection is there - right click on any page and there's the option to print.

Also, nice work with the black bar up top and the lightning fast page rendering.

Another solid release.

This release crashed on me just 5 min in. I think I was checking out the new pop-ups notification when it crashed. BTW, what happens to the option of not getting notify when blocking pop-ups? Now I'm getting notified all the time.

Arkadiusz: That bug has been fixed on our trunk, so it'll be coming soon.

Red: The option to hide all popup-blocking UI was removed.

Another solid update! However, I'm not a big fan of the black tabs background when maximized (on XP). Could this be a sign of adding skinning abilities to Chrome?

My adress bar is black, I don't know why. What happened?? A few minutes ago was normal. Then I reset the PC and opened it again, asking me to set it as my browser default again. And this black thing...

The black Tab bar is so distracting, and that fade from light to darker blue ruins the looks of the browser. Also, please!!! make Chrome able to read rss feeds, so annoying having to open another browser to see them. Everything else is great!!

Operator said...

So no "exciting new features" with this Release. But hopefully in the next one ;).

By the way: Could you please add an RSS feature soon? It's uncomfortable not to know if a page has a feed or not. Thank you.

Chrome died under XP after, aprox 10 mins after update, when I was closing it before reboot. Some strange error message appeared, but unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough to read it.. :(
The problem is that now it is not even start-ups. I execute chrome.exe however nothing happens. Is there any way to take logs why it is crashing?

Great release! Only "Home button" isn't "polished"!

In addition, i suggest to XP users who have capabilities to switch to updated and officially supported version of Windows.

Can't create account on this forum, some error while trying to validate the confirmation code.

I tested it on firefox and it worked.
Maybe imcompability with some technology.

Black background really isn't good, it removed the good sensation of the visual.

O really, other thing.

A thing that's really boring, really very very boring.

While on orkut.com, chrome don't allow u to create pages from links (ctrl+click).

This is a thing that really make the biggest part of Brazilian chrome user, stop using it. Like u know, Orkut in Brazil is like a personal document, is very hard u find some one that don't have it.
We use it all the time, and this feature from chrome, make people go back to other browsers.

People like to read some one profile, while the pictures from the profile are opening or open the profile o a friend's friend with out get out from the actual profile. And this feature, really turn the navigation on orkut very boring and annoying.

I like the new black background on the titlebar when the window is maximized, like in Vista. Hope it's not considered a bug, since I find it's much less distracting now.

I actually like the new black background (I don't know if it's a bug or not...). Next thing I want to see is the option to "Set as background" when right clicking on an image. Much needed feature I'd say.

I would like to see even more room.

Can you guys make Address bar inside the Tab

Or just hide it after we hit enter and then if you want to change you have to double click the tab itself.

7:21 PM, May 13, 2009
Jeff said...

On the other hand, I believe one of the nicer features of Chrome is the slightly larger Address Bar and larger font size, making it easier to read.

Still waiting for the day when I stop getting page responses such as, "Sorry, you must be using a recognized Web Browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla's Firefox or Safari to use this feature." Come on, Web-dev people. Chrome is here to stay!

Really not a big fan of this black color when Chrome is maximized... At least, could it be an option ? Also, why is it black only when it's maximized ?

8:19 AM, May 14, 2009

It was a bug and has been corrected since : http://src.chromium.org/viewvc/chrome/trunk/src/chrome/browser/views/frame/opaque_browser_frame_view.cc?r1=15714&r2=15820

The black frame hasn't been fixed totally yet. In the latest trunk build you still get the black frame when you maximize the Bookmark and Task Managers.

As for this release though, I'm excited by the fact that you can install and use extensions without restarting Chrome. That's awesome.

I'm running Windows 7 RC Build 7100 and Even though I've set my channel to Dev, I seem stuck with 2.0.172.27, from the Beta download I picked. Is anyone else having this problem?

Helen said...

Yep fantastic! Best build yet and sails along quite nicely on a very low spec Win XP home.

Like some others the tab bar is black unless the window is minimized? I don't know if it is meant to be like that but I like it!

Gentry said...

Like Different Drummer, I am also unable to move to 2.0.180.0 Switcher says I'm on DEV channel, but it reports '..up to date (2.0.172.27)'. I am just running it on plain XP SP3... frustrated

If you're having trouble getting the Dev channel update, it might be a bug in the channel changer.

Try installing from
http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?extra=devchannel

(Shameless plug: please check the 'Help make Google Chrome better...' box. The data and crash reports we get from the Dev channel are extremely useful.)

I think I found a bug (if it was not found yet). When I install any new version of Chrome (dev or beta), I need to uninstall google talk plugin (plugin to video-chat in gmail) and reinstall it. It is not work on newer version until this done.
