Dev update: Bug fixes

Google Chrome 3.0.190 has been released to the Dev channel (Mac: 190.0, Windows: 190.1, Linux: 190.2).

Highlights in this release:
  • Mostly bug and crash fixes.
  • Linux: Fixed the browser crashing because of missing fonts. (Issue 13007)
  • Lots of progress filling in missing features on Mac and Linux. Random samples:
    • Linux: HTTP authentication now works.
    • Linux: Render the contents of tabs while dragging.
    • Linux: You can import and export bookmarks.
    • Mac: You can download more than one item in a tab.
    • Mac: A (preliminary) download shelf at the bottom of the window shows your downloads.
    • Mac: Added the Restore Closed Tabs item to the File menu.
  • The --enable-monitor-profile flag converts web pages from sRGB to your current default monitor profile. It does not handle embedded color profiles in images. (Issue 4938)
  • The 'Print selection' option on the Print dialog works on Windows. (Issue 1682)
Known issues:
  • You cannot drag bookmarklets (javascript: URLs) to the bookmarks bar. (Issue 12290)
  • When you install an extension, two separate toolstrips appear.  The problem will go away when you restart the browser. (Issue 14941)

More details are available in the release notes and the log of all revisions.

You can find out about getting on the Dev channel here:

One more notable bug fix on Linux:
autoupdate no longer breaks running browsers. (i.e. "New Tab"
continues working properly if
your system updates chrome while you're in the middle of using it.)

I've been waiting for the print selection option. Thanks Google.

I'd like to see some progress on the sciencedirekt bug (8955). It's still in the "Unconfirmed" status. I keep trying and it always hangs up to the point where I have to kill Chrome.

Excellent, even shows up without an immediate crash. ;-)

Thank you for fixing the user scripts...again. I know that you devs do at least some testing before releasing a dev build. Hopefully, you can add user scripts to the list of things should be working before releasing a new build. Hate when it keeps breaking every other build.

Keep up the good work. Chrome is coming along nicely.

+1 for GIFs and "update server not available" (~since

I have some suggestions :
-a permanent status bar, like the favorite bar, to see link's url ;
-the ability open files directly, and not save them every time (useful for installers) ;
-have an image download folder ;
-a button to easilly reopen closed tab, like in opera ;

Else, continue :)

I forgot :
-some favicon display bad since (maybe already fixed but cache is corrupted)
-if a window is created with a small size, the "Google" mark appear on buttons (seven)

Google, the things you are fixing now and the updates that you are doing make us feel in the beginning of the internet explorer and Netscape in the 90's, don't treat us like kids and post a fix for the print or any old things that is already solved in the other browser since 90's.

@ Tareq Mazen: Well, Google chrome is only One year old browser... Non of the todays browsers like Opera 10, Firefox 3.5 and Safari 4 were not stable and feature full in the first year of appearance. It takes some time to build a solid browser. My opinion is that Google is doing a great job. And day after day, build after build Chrome is more stable (ex. and feature full ...

I would like to see Chrome just rock stable with no extra features.. Later on - everything is possible and doable :)

keep up great work google guys :)

I have a few corrupted favicons, too.

I do not know why, but wordpress blogs and some other websites display garbled favicons. Sometimes they display correctly when I press refresh, but they do not save with the proper icon in bookmarks.

I cleared the cache completely but it did not work.

One other thing I noticed..Is when I am in Ebay..and go to hit Pay Now..Chrome has an issue entering Paypal...something like "your payment cannot be made at this time"...however I log into IE and hit pay now and I go to the Paypal checkout page.

Also I have to submit THIS entery with IE as when I try to post here with Chrome...I get "We're sorry, but we were unable to complete your request."

I'm having many crashes with this version ( Open say ten tabs, close a few, and pretty much every session I get a 'whoa, Chrome crashed' or so. Seems to always happen when closing a tab, and tentatively I'd say on more complicated pages (Gizmodo main page). Had the same problem on the previous dev version. Anyone else? -Joe

The malware protection is giving a lot of false positives, most of them are just because it detects a site trying to serve a harmless ad. For example, yahoo finance is having this problem from time to time.
