Glad pinning's back, can't drag to pin/unpin any more though, oh well better than nothing!

Strange how the icon goes big on roll over now, wonder what the reason for that is..?

And cookies too, which makes this feature kind of unique among browsers. :) I'm blocking third party cookies and saw it right away.

WRT Drag-crash, uninstalling "Autocomplete = on" Extension and
some other Extensions/UserScripts may solve the issue temporary.

@Chrome team: Could you please release 335.2 (or later) to fix this?

This is dev channel release, not beta channel release.
Currently both of stable & beta channels are at 4.0.249.89.
You may have to install dev from www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?extra=devchannel

I am still occasionally experiencing the drag-text crash bug on version 5.0.335.1 dev with most extensions disabled, but it also crashes when dragging images. (With images, if the image is already selected, dragging is fine.) This does not always happen, but seems to happen often enough to bug me.

Great Update! I have never had a single problem with Chrome but 2 days ago it crashed on me 3 times in a hour while dragging links to the tab bar. I'm sure happy that is over.

Piston, next time if you had problem with dev. version, consider stable version of chrome instead of firefox :)

I also think the cookie icon should not be there, at least not by default. The Omnibar is a precious place where only useful items such extensions should be visible, also to avoid unnecessary clutter.

The 335.1 version says "beta" instead of "dev" in the "About" window.

But I surely think that Issue 35723 slowing down the renderer after you post something, especially with many input fields, is the most serious bug of the existing versions.

Mafia Wars on Facebook is 3 times slower than on Firefox. I actually run Firefox, especially when I fight with many gangsters.

And when I am posting blog articles on blogger.com or comments on various blogs, I often wait for 1 minut - of 100% CPU consumption. Is it just me? I can't believe it. I think it can't be due to any extension I installed etc. In my opinion, it's related to the serious performance bug above.

1:32 AM, February 26, 2010
Blogger Matt Rogowski said...

Says dev in the About window for me, and I've never had 100% CPU from Chrome unless I've had a crazy amount of stuff open, certainly not on any blogs.

1:34 AM, February 26, 2010
Blogger Li, Quanjia said...

335.1 is on dev. consumption problem not in me. chrome does eat lots of memory. And not scroll smoothly in flash rich pages.

2:40 AM, February 26, 2010
Blogger Lumo said...

Hi guys, I don't believe that either of you has the newest 5.0.335.1 version (note the "1" at the end) and it correctly shows you "Dev" in About Google Chrome.

See this screenshot to see that it says "beta". Hard to see why your version of the same file would say something else.

If you don't suffer from the bug above, it's probably because you're not using the browser for anything that is sufficiently creative. If it's the same reason, what I mentioned is a bug acknowledged by the Chromium team saying that XSSAuditor is either "super super super slow" or just "super super slow", but there are at least two super's over there. ;-)

Cheers
LM

A pretty nasty sqlite bug was introduced with this build. I entered it here - http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=36862

Basically, the transaction halts once one SQLTransactionErrorCallback occurs. So if I am inserting lots of rows and 1 fails a constraint, the rest don't get inserted.
