When will the Windows version lose the border around the toolbar buttons? I really like that look in the Mac version of Chrome.

Please release a beta soon!

PDF plug-in is/was awesome -- major bummer that it's not working on Linux in this release. Hoping for a real quick fix for that!

1) So it looks like web-app tabs are still around, but in a pinned tab look? I notice that I can still unpack the default three (gmail, docs, and calendar) but they still don't have the glorified tab view.

2) What's with the "Chrome Web Store" button on the new tab page that directs me to the extensions gallery? (I assume that will evolve, soon enough.)

3) This is really minor, but new tab and tools in the alt+f file menu both start with t . . . So I'm always going to get a new tab opened if I want to keyboard shortcut it to tools.

My notes about this version:
- Windows hotkey for downloading a link is Alt+click
- It applies to LINKS, NOT IMAGES, unless the image is a link. The link will be downloaded regardless of whether it links to the image or not.
- App stuff has been updated. App tabs look like normal tabs now, still have the bigger icon. "Chrome Web Store" app icon in NTP, but it just opens the extension gallery in a normal tab.

Go to content settins and disable plugins, then visit a site with flash(ie.Youtube) and you will be able to click the flash icon to play the video (same as with Flashblock)

This is pretty funny! Add

to the list of parameters of chrome.exe. When you start Chrome, right click a tab, and the last (new) entry will be enable sidebar.

If you click it, normal tabs will be listed vertically (including the PLUS new tab command) instead of horizontally. They will appear in a sidebar.

Cheers, Lubos

Upgrading from the previous version didn't work here (maybe because of the download bug?), I had to download it from the website. It seems that it has some problems with certain favicons: some are broken and some are missing. Latest Snow Leopard here.

Please support this feature request by 'starring' the issue (no need to comment, just creates spam). The request is for a button that gives access to the bookmarks from the toolbar menu.

Oooh another new feature... when an uncaught exception lands in the console, you can open a dropdown to see the stack!

It'd be nice if the built-in 'FlashBlock' also worked when disabling the flash plugin individually, which doesn't seem to be the case now.

@Ryan. Interesting. I'm not sure I would call that a built-in Flashblock, though. I think I'd call it, well, "disable plugins." Do you mean to say that it behaves like Flashblock when enabled?

Has no one else had the issue where if you try to open a new tab and then enter a Google Docs URL, the tab will close and display the Google Docs home tab instead?

I wonder if there's something messed up on my end.

How do you disable individual plugins on the new about:plugins page.

I have two Flash plugins, the Adobe one, and the Chrome one. On previous versions they were listed separately and I could disable the Adobe one but leave the Chrome on enabled.

But now, they are listed together as one item, I can only disable both of them at the same time, or enable both of them at the same time, not individually any more.

Blogger Chris said...

go to the about:plugins page, select the 'more details' button to expand the plugin enformation. you can disable the individual files there

Blogger Blaster219 said...

When I do that, it still forces you disable both or neither. There is'nt a seperate disable button for the Chrome one and the adobe one. I'm just going to uninstall flash and hope I don't have to use another browser for anything.

Hey guys,

Awesome work on Chrome. I've found a small bug though, the browser crashes on this page, every time:

Perhaps something to look into. This is on a Windows 7 x86-64, Intel Core 2 Quad, 4 GB RAM, GeForce 7300 LE, SoundBlaster X-Fi system.

@Blaster219. Show details. You'll note they have different priorities, so Chrome's Flash runs preferentially over Adobe's.

On Snow Leopard when fullscreen the Chrome toolbar fails to appear on certain sites. Reproducible when visiting The toolbar is actually hidden, hovering the mouse where other tabs are supposed to be show the tooltips of the tab. Also clicking where a tab is supposed to be will switch that tab.

I find it absolutely incredible that Chrome STILL CRASHES when selecting a file for upload. This bug was reported at least 12 months ago and yet is still in the programme!

Why is such a huge bug overlooked time and time again?!?!

Blogger Cougar Abogado said...

@Scotty. I don't think I've ever had that happen to me. Maybe your issue is like my Google Docs issue (it doesn't apply to anyone else - or only to a few)?

They need to add an option to change the number ob thumbnails on the "New Tab" page.

They have 8 now, that is reasonable for laptops and small screens but I have a huge screen and these only occupy a quarter of my screen; I'd like more.
