Setting page and extension management page is awful!!!
The new Settings page is much more disorganized and, in my view, it was a unnecessary change. If it was working very well before, why are you wasting time on making it worse? There are so many other requested features that you could work on, such as a Color Palette on the Dev Tools, which is something that would be very useful to me and many others that make changes on CSS through Dev Tools!Do you think you'll have more users to Google Chrome with the new Settings page?I didn't want to be rude with this. But I would not like Google Chrome to get worse and worse like Firefox is. I left Firefox since its version 4, and so far I'm in love with Google Chrome.
Gotta admin - new settings page is really a step back instead of forward. Interface is much more cluttered.
Settings page was very nice, no need to change that :/
The setting is a work-in progress, can can be revamped to the old style in about:flags. Thats great that the privacy extension went of of API. Keep up the good work.
Well you have to revert to the old settings page. When you go to Wrench -> Tools -> Clear browsing data it no longer works. Just takes you to the settings page. Reverting to the old style fixes this bug.
my omnibar is kinda messed up....for example when i type "twitt" it would usually come up with "twitter.com" as the suggestion but now it comes up with "twitter.com/foxnews"...it does this with everysite, not taking me to the homepage of the website but a section of it i dont want to go to.
BTW, Clear browsing data was working properly with the new settings menu in Chromium build 119801. Maybe should have used that for this Dev build.
The settings page redesign is part of the Uber Page experiment, which may include about, bookmarks, history, extensions, settings, etc.Although the new aesthetic is not fully developed, I like the unification concept. Also, this Uber Page is set to be disabled before M18 Stable, so if you do not like experiments, I recommend the stable channel.
I'm developing an extension for Chrome (local, not in Chrome Web Store). With this new update, Chrome unloaded the extension with a message about permissions.I reload the extension and it works again. After an update, it's normal this behaviour or I'll need extra permissions? My extension works fine now.Sorry for my poor english :-(
Love the new settings page.
I've updated, but now chrome wont launch. It starts then "Whoa!". Seems to take 5 seconds to crash.Running with -disable-plugins makes no difference. :(
I have multiple machines running the dev build that now won't launch since this update. It shows up in task manager for about 2 seconds and disappears.
Having the same issue as Adrian -- Chrome no longer starts up... crashes within 5 seconds with a "Whoa" error.Adding "--enable-logging --v=1", the debug log shows nothing useful or errors.
We can't use Chrome Web Store: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=106095
JESUS, this new settings page is HORRIBLEPlus, please hurry up and correct the download window bug. When a folder explorer window pops up it gets hidden behind Chrome's main window.
Thank you for blogging. . .We learned tips for how to write on people's blogs, like a compliment. We also learned that if you know something about the topic, you can put it on there if nobody else has written it. We liked the suggestion to only use one punctuation instead of a bunch if you liked it Vimax.
I think that the new settings pages can help average users find settings easier. For advanced users it might slow them down. Users reviewing the new settings pages need to bear in mind that the UI is a work in progress and will eventually improve.
very good post
