But why did gcswf32.dll remain at version 11.3.300.271 even with this update?
@karen flash not showing to be updated in the 21.0.1180.83 what happen?
Just look at the "http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/". The "Chrome (Pepper-based Flash Player)" is fully updated. Stop thinking with the FF's mind.
Mr.Unknown, Chrome includes 2 different versions of Adobe Flash - common NPAPI gcswf32.dll (this one wasn't updated to a secure version) and PPAPI pepflashplayer.dll, which has been updated. That's the problem.
Denis, sorry about the previous "unknown".In this case, 'pepper' update (what exactly is a security layer) makes the "gcswf32.dll" updating unnecessary in Chrome.Or am I mistaken?
@ Sophie it depends, not yet completely sure, how they run together when both turned on. Also some people turn of pepper flash as there is still a bit of instability with it.
@Sophie, if common Flash (gcswf32.dll) is still shipped with Chrome, it should also be up-to-date.Look, it's all in one Adobe security bulletin, http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb12-19.htmlUsers of Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.271 and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh should update to Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265.Flash Player installed with Google Chrome will automatically be updated to the latest Google Chrome version, which will include Adobe Flash Player 22.214.171.124 for Windows and LinuxAs Chrome includes both of them, so both of them should be updated.I guess we'll see some response from Google in a short time ...
Update Flash Player here:http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb12-19.html
The high CPU usage wasn't fixed =/If I disable PepperFlash works fine for me.
Youtube still unusable, stutters like hell
Looks like ongoing bugs in the stable channel are forcing stable and beta together. Compatibility with the new TLS 1.1 and ongoing pepper flash issues. Temporary workaround is to disable pepper flash (about:plugins disable PPAPI), but remember to enable it at a later date for security reasons.
The gtk3 titlebar issue is still here! Can you guys please get on this?
My problems are a bit harder to explain since I'm not 100% fluent with programming...... but for some reason my interface of Google+ and Gmail make it seriously inconvenient to use Chrome. I can't make a comment, create a post, or navigate through the profiles or pages because the links don't work. Gmail chat statuses don't pop-up and I can't create or join hangouts. I filed a bug report within chrome and sent screenshots twice but I did not file a report on Chromium because I do not have the time. For these reasons I'm going to temporarily use Internet Explorer 9 until these get resolved. I know they will; everyone seems to be narrowing the problems down to Flash.
why is chrome canary flash player lower version than stable 0.o
I still have to disable the Pepper Flash plugin. Still getting 25% CPU usage on 64-bit quad-core Win7 with it enabled. I tried disabling the other Flash plugins & leaving Pepper Flash enabled, but that didn't solve high CPU usage. Only by disabling Pepper Flash plugin does problem go away.
pepper flash still doesent hardware decode (can test this in youtube by right clicking on playing video and show info). I have ati 4550 (switchable) on hp tm2 laptop. I have to manually disable it everytime chrome updates.
I'm getting the same problem as John Deker. Please, solve it somehow, it should be easily reproducible.
I've had to downgrade. Pepper Flash is an ambombination. Drop it. The latest versions have totally buggered systems which I've FINALLY got users to start using Chrome. Drop this, seriously!!!!
I am having some huge issues with Pepper Flash on Ubuntu.. now I am glad that it's there because Adobe doesn't support Linux anymore and using Google Chrome is the only way to get an up to date Flash player..But with YouTube I am having some issues that it basically makes the whole page useless when Flash is started, you can't do anything on the page like posting a comment.
Thanks for sharing such a important information news with us.Actually I came from this page PeachtreeInk.com to your site and saw a marvelous post.
