Dev Channel Update

The Dev channel has been updated to 23.0.1270.0 for Windows, Mac, Linux, and ChromeFrame platforms

  • Updated V8 -
  • Fixed playback of multiple audio streams with Pepper Flash, WebRTC, and WebAudio.
  • Fixed crash when attempting to play audio without a sound card or via remote desktop.
  • Media Galleries Extension API should work on all platforms, though permission format has changed.
  • Chrome will automatically check for captive portals when showing SSL interstitials or when an HTTP server responds to an HTTPS request.

  • Now Chrome on Windows 8 uses a single profile regardless if running on desktop or metro mode. A new menu item has been added to switch mode which cause a relaunch.

More details about additional changes are available in the svn log of all revisions.

You can find out about getting on the Dev channel here: http://dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel.

This flag looks good:

Unfortunately it killed Flash. Latest Dev version from Tuesday now always says that there's a new Adobe Flash version and the current one is out of date (and makes any flash fields grey with the broken icon) when it's not.

After installing the latest Adobe Flash plugin again it did not solve the issue. Please fix ASAP

This is on Mac OS-X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 btw.

When you start the browser it is a problem with the brakes, but then normalizes itself.

I'm a bit fused about windows 8. When I open external links (or do a run command), it opens it in desktop mode, even if metro mode is open. I perfer using the metro mode, and I would like links to open in it. It is set to the default browser, so it should work.

I also did find a bug (I know this shouldn't happen, because chrome metro is not multi windowed) and I reported it here: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!searchin/chrome/%22i$20can't$20seem$20to$20describe$20this...%22/chrome/H2UVo-a8vGA/eHEF1We-vgcJ.

I can't wait until chrome gets updated to fit in with windows 8!

One more question: will panels ever be implemeted into chrome stable, as the flag doesn't work on windows 8 and I would like to use my apps in a panel.

"Relaunch Chrome on the desktop" is not working for me.
It closes the current instance, does not reopen and when I reopen it from the desktop it still opens the Metro version.
Is there a fix for that?
