First, here are my current specs:

Version 27.0.1446.5 dev
Platform 3881.4.0 (Official Build) dev-channel parrot
Firmware Google_Parrot.2685.37.0

I was on the dev channel for a while; however, for the past few days, I've noticed that my Acer chromebook is stuck on the beta channel. So when I try to switch to the Dev channel, I get a "You have switched to the Dev - Unstable channel." successful message; yet, if I return to or refresh the help settings screen/window to check for a dev update, my system is stuck, once again, on the Beta channel as if I had never switched channels. As of now, if I switch from Beta (on which I'm still stuck) to Dev, I get the typical "You have switched to the Dev - Unstable channel." confirmation message, but my system doesn't update to the latest 27.0.1453.6 Dev release. As a result, I'm now stuck on 27.0.1446.5. Any comments or maybe any possible troubleshooting other than powerwashing or recovering?

I had the same issue. The only solution was to run Powerwash.

I was afraid I would get Powerwash as the last solution to this issue. I guess there isn't another workaround, right?

Unfortunately not. Thankfully, this dev update is worth it. Most issues have been resolved.

Has the artifacts and Ghosting been solved?

This release seems to have broken my Samsung 550 chromebook... All tabs and windows, including offline apps, just open as blank white pages with "loading..." in the top left corner. It was working fine, then I restarted to take the update, and now it's broken. Settings menu also won't open (same issue)

I had a decent ubuntu crouton running so I'd prefer not to have to powerwash if possible... Anyone else come across this?

Issue resolved itself randomly after a few restarts. Still not sure of the cause, may have been unrelated to the build.

I also had a same issue. I used power-wash to fix the problem. I finally had an update. Chromevox is finally working properly.
But I still had some issues:
The Adobe flash player is still not working when using the web-cam & mic.
Chromevox won't navigate to the plugin that is asking me to allow access to my web-cam & mic.
And the plugin is not responding to youtube when using the web-cam to upload a video directly from the web-cam.

On Windows version, whenever I add a bookmark, I get the list of folders and start typing the name of the folder. This release disabled that functionality, so you have to manually find the folder you want each time, so it takes about 10x as long to find the folder.
