The "new tab page" is completely useless. The bar on the bottom has disappeared so i can no longer quickly open a tab that i have opened on another device.

Also before i had 8 tiles with my most frequented sites, now i only have 4 left and i have to use a microscope to see what's going on.

What's going on, some sort of delayed April Fools BS? Worst part is that i cannot figure out which version i had before it crashed just now and installed this damn "update"

I completely agree with the above comment with the new tab page.

I liked how it was prior, the same what it has always been. I do not mind changes but at least either 1) allow us to have an option or 2) make it good, not terrible.

I as well need a microscope to even see the page, what's the point of even having anything displayed anymore?

Go back to the 8 tiles too, that's how I want it, and use it. So allow us the option or go back to it.

Thanks. :)

May I ask if it's possible to open such obscure sites as Facebook without Chrome stalling?

@Unknown and mistical:
Go to chrome://flags/
Deactivate "Instant Extended API"
Restart Chrome

The Edit/Copy/Paste and +/-/[] buttons in the "Customize and control Google Chrome" menu are bright pink on one of my computers. The others are fine.

Has there been much interest in "pinning" sites or forcing certain sites to the most visited thumbnail spots? That would improve the start page functionality for me.

bag, bag thing with this new style of the New Tab page,

go back to the old one, with apps, and tiles, and other devices...
now is just rubbish and with no sense, is a regression

I agree - the new "New Tab" page is useless. Bring back the app page. Bring back the Recently Closed and Other Devices menus.

The new "new tab" page offers me no value and takes away several useful feature. It's as though someone decided to dumb it down and make it a toy. I am not a child, I don't need my new tab page to be a toy. I'm very disappointed that someone would make this change without even adding an option to go back to the old behavior.

Noticed a problem on my Surface Pro (running Windows Ei8ht pro), at the extensions page, I can't drag and drop extensions downloaded from other websites unto the extensions page in order to install them.

This is occuring with the current latest stable release of Google chrome.

If it makes any difference, I used the offline installer to install chrome and it appears to have been installed to the program files (x86) directory, instead of the AppData directory.

Seems it was the over protective UAC that was blocking it from detecting the drag and drop :|

Unfortunately, can't permanently turn the useless security feature off in Windows Ei8ht as metro apps strictly require it to be enabled...

After I restarted my computer, the new update took effect, and since then Chrome won't even open the New Tab page. It just opens and crashes straight into the "Oh, Snap!" page. What the hell, Google? It was working just fine before!

I like the new updates for chrome and the efforts towards launching new extensions such as chrome voice extension. Personally, I use a chrome extension for GroupDocs Viewer to view my files and read old PDF e-books. It has proved to be a handy extension for me and I get nice rendered files to view. You can also read an article for developing such extensions and I guess it will be a valued resource for developers as well as users.
