When will the SDK be released to public? Having only Youtube and Netflix app support really undermines the potential of this device.. Also, length of SDK public release is inversely proportional to developer and customer curiosity..
Some changes to power management would be welcome. Mine gets really hot, since it's always on (using the USB adapter), and it would be nice to have it enter some kind of standby or low-power mode while it's not being accessed.
The Chromecast team needs to kick it in the ass and get some cool stuff coming out for this. Start with letting me stream a tab from Chrome in Android.
@Pandora and other apps support: the support for more apps doesnt comes from the chromecast device itself - it needs the implementation in the apps itself AND support for a receiver url - e.g. the "web app".
What i want is some source code to communicate as a device emulator. a lot of users cant buy a real device :(
It is potentially a very cool device. I have cut the Cable. And only use Internet Services - many I pay for. I own most of the Streamers - Appletv, Roku, Push2tv, Pios Xios' PS3 and Chromecast. My go to device Roku. It does all of what I want and more. The only problem is I have to use work a rounds for Netflix. Chromecast has the potential but I worry it will be like Google TV.
I have multiple chromecast devices. Prior to this update, I was able to have multiple tabs open in my Google Chrome browser (on my Windows 8 laptop) and cast each tab to a different chromecast device. Now, as soon as I attempt to cast the second Chrome tab to Chromecast #2, I lose the stream that was being displayed on Chromecast #1.
After the update my chromecast started to loosing connection with my chrome browser, the youtube video starts but then loses the connection, the video plays till end but then everything stops.

+1 for Pandora...
+1 for Pandora
Pandora Radio app for iOS went to v 5.0 today without Chromecast support.

SDK release? Come on and release already and show everyone just how great Cromecast is. People are already getting bored and losing interest.

This update seems bad.
When casting a tab my chrome browser , it loses connection to the chromecast device after a couple of minutes of streaming content.
My windows laptop also got an update today, so I can't say 100% that it is the chromecast update that is at fault.
@Andreas, take a look at leapcast https://github.com/dz0ny/leapcast
it's unofficial and not supported by google, but may help you out for debugging/developing.

What happened?
Please fix...

It would be fantastic to be able to stream from Android, like Gallery, so I can show the camera photos/videos on the TV.
As for the office? It would be HUGE if Chromecast supported my Google Drive...Spreadsheets and Slideshows, and photos, etc.
Come on, Google, surely you have geeks like us that work there (at Google) that would like to use this thing the way WE want to, too!
