Typing in an edit field = not functional, even here in this comment field I'm forced to use Notepad then copy and paste, same in GMail...
...but my extensions now work :-)

Confirmed. Workaround: switch focus for tab/window and after that return back to the form/field.

The canary version work surprisingly well, and it is installed separately from the normal/beta/dev versions. Since we have sync, give it a try! When the dev breaks, I just use the canary version, which honestly is more stable than the dev version most of the time, in my opinion.

Three really major issues in this release.

- As mentioned, form input fields doesn't allow typing.
- I use multiple profiles, and the profile attached to the browser is not the one used for GMail, Drive, Calendar, etc. This is a really major issue and defeats the purpose of profiles.
- Related, the --profile-directory command line switch that can be used to force application shortcut on Windows to use a particular profile is also ignored :(

Unfortunately this latest release has too many bugs for me to continue on the dev chanel. The fact that input fields just stop working (sometimes halfway through an email) is a show stopper. It's just too frustrating.

The reason that this is here and not via the feedback tool is that it is now crashing on every attempt to send feedback. Which isn't ideal.

In number of last builds I paid attention, that there is no more progress bar gradient on Chrome's icon in task bar when you download something. I'm not sure what is the root of the problem — Chrome's UI or Windows 8.1 Pro RTM X64. But in anyway, it's not so comfortable, previously you could have seen progress of download process, but now the only option to check wherever your download is finished is to go to chrome://downloads, which is not so comfortable.

I think calling this the Alpha channel is more fitting compared to Dev channel.

I always had the impression its for Chrome apps and extension devs. But the recent builds had too much breaking stuff.
