For last 2-3 releases chrome shows only blank page on %90 of the pages. Literally it doesn't work. And they released at least 3 releases after it first broken and still nobody fixed it.I write this comment from Firefox becuase chrome shows just nothing when I try to load it.What a shame!
@Jo - What's the OS/version?
@laforgeWin7 32bitChrome Version 33.0.1707.0 dev-mAlso maybe it's related I'm using classic windows theme. It means no windows Aero effects enabled, no special effect, just classic windows, just themeless.I said this because chrome became just a pain for classic theme windows users after you bring that Aura thing. I'm sure you never test it with classic theme windows and you never care.Also I'm not the only one who have this "blank pages" problem. You can look at previous blog post's first comment: http://googlechromereleases.blogspot.com/2013/11/dev-channel-update_7.htmlLook what it says: "Same issues as previous build. Page contents blank"
Looks like 'Use native window decorations' option is gone in Linux. Please bring it back.
@Jo, thank you that's actually very helpful. I'll follow-up w/ the Aura guys to see if they might know what's going on. If you wouldn't mind also filling a bug on our issue tracker (crbug.com) and linking it in a comment, that would give our developers a means to track the issue and contact you if they have any additional questions.
I'm with Muthu Kannan — please get the use of native window decorations back on Linux. I have my window buttons on the left (which is also the default on Ubuntu / Unity) and that makes the fact that Chrome (one of my most used programs) is the only one that has them on the right very annoying.
Win7 32bitGoogle+ Local page doesn't display.
Same issue with blank pages here on Win 8.1 x64. Usually I can resize the window using aero snap and the keyboard to get content to show... but it's pretty annoying.
there is a BUG in version 31.0.1650.48 m.Radio buttons showing incorrectly: http://addyosmani.github.io/jquery-ui-bootstrap/
@Muthu, Its my understanding that this is probably not possible. Chrome for linux now uses Aura to draw the UI instead of using GTK2. Given that GTK 2 is no longer supported thats probably a good idea. If you just want window decorations to match your can probably find a theme that will do that. If you want the buttons to be on the left... well your probably SOL.
@Jeff, Thanks for telling why native window borders had to go away. I prefer native window borders because I like to have long title bar that doesn't truncate page title and custom window buttons (such as Always On Top).Themes cannot add those features. If this will make the code easy to maintain, I guess I'll learn to live with limited functionality. :)
On the plus side you now have the notification center and packaged apps now appear in the unity launcher. you can find more highlevel information on what was changed for linux here:http://www.omgchrome.com/chrome-aura-notification-centre-arrive-linux/
hi..Im college student, thanks for sharing :)
Missing native window decorations for Linux... Please, do something about it!
also, generally unable to paste into search boxes on sites
I paid attention, that since 14…15.11.2013 I'm expecting issues with New Google Maps, I'm getting tab crash message «Aw, Snap!» when I begin to zoom-in/out and move over the map. There is no such issue with classic Google Maps.
Anyone having problems copying&pasting from their terminal?https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/google-chrome-dev/
