Beta Channel Release for Chrome OS

The Beta channel has been updated to 36.0.1985.35 (Platform version: 5841.23.0) for all Chrome OS devices. This build contains a number of bug fixes, security updates and feature enhancements. Systems will be receiving updates over the next several days. Here is a list of Chromium changes.

Some highlights of these changes are:
  • Users can adjust time if their clock is out of sync and they have no network connection
  • The On-screen keyboard to support IMEs
  • We launched a touch-optimized window manager for Chrome OS
  • Supervised users: ability to import existing supervised users, and to set a new password from chrome.com/manage

If you find new issues, please let us know by visiting our forum or filing a bug. Interested in switching channels? Find out how. You can submit feedback using ‘Report an issue...’ in the Chrome menu (3 horizontal bars in the upper right corner of the browser).

It's nice to see the "ok google" hotword feature back in the app menu search bar. It makes the feature a lot easier to use at it was kind of pointless just being accessible from google.com or new tab page. Not sure i like the change to the color of the top of chrome browser, the black seemed better but not a big deal i guess. Would be nice to know how to use some of the new features in the releases or what exactly they do.

My samsung chromebook is not automatically connecting to my network when it comes out of sleep. Never had this problem until this update now i have to manually connect each time i open my chromebook except when it first boots up it connects on its own. Please fix this asap as it is very annoying.

Please make it possible to charge phones when the lid is closed and the dvice is active, there isn't any reason to not allow such a small but helpful feature.

Any chance there will be a feature to sync time-zones, too? WHen I travelled across the country (US) and reconnected to the internet, the timezone never updated.

It unifies the maximized and "free-floating" color. Before it would be grey when free-floating and black when maximized. Now it's the same. It also coordinates with the grey/silver theme of Chrome (especially menu and tabs).

Was there a change to multiprofile mode? I have a personal google account (which is the "owner" of my chromebook), and a work gmail, managed by my university. Usually, I sign in with my personal account, and then add the work account; but since the update, I cannot do this and get a message that an administrator (on the work account) requires that to be signed in first. But when I do sign in to the work account first, my personal, owner account is not listed as a possible account to add.
