My display scaling is set to 125%.But google chrome now displays everything so small that I need a magnifying glass to almost still be able to read.Google Chrome is now unusable for me.
Me too. Looks as if windows is set to 100% though it is set to 125%.
The version number for the 64 bit Chrome browser is still messed up. It readsVersion 37.0.2062.103 unknown-m (64-bit)Why unknown?
Now I have issue with small text as after enabling "/high-dpi-support=1 /force-device-scale-factor=1" befor. Text too small than as it was in Chrome 36, can't read it without strain on the eyes.
Text is way too small. This hurts :/
Try disabling DirectWrite at the "about:flags" page, sure it makes bigger text prettier but it makes small unreadably blurry for me. I have normal scaling though
Thank you for the scaling fix!
same issue as above commenters. google chrome now displays everything too small. it is as though i have the display scalling set in windows to 100% not the default 125%. is there a way to force chrome back to the scalling it had before
Hi,Is there any website or link available where we can find the release dates for chrome browser stable versions? For example, I want to know the release date for Chrome Browser v38 for windows. Thanks
Finally!!!What a nice support team, Chrome (Google). I updated to Chrome 37 (102 I think) and the scaling wasn't working as it should be, interface was blurry. Now with Chrome 37 (103) the issue is solved, and sooner than I though. I have Windows item's size to 125%, and Chrome's Page Zoom to 125%. Everything is fine now, as it used to be.THANKS!!!
What did you do!!! My text is really small I can hardly read it!! Im on Chrome 37 (103) Please fix!!
Maybe next time Chrome Team should further improve quality of testing before being released to the public as a stable version. Perform complete testing involving many users and variety of hardware (integrated graphics, discrete graphics card, 1080p/1200p/1440p/4K display, CRT/LCD/OLED display, etc).I prefer to wait longer for the quality, rather than rush with a lot of unexpected bugs.
[Windows 8.1 guide]OK, if you're using Google Chrome 37.0.2062.103 m and have zoom issues, do this:1. Make sure you have the very latest drivers for your graphic card, Intel, nVIDIA or ATI.2. Go to desktop, right-click, Screen resolution [Control Panel, Appearance and Personalization, Display, Adjust Resolution], set your resolution to the native recommended resolution. In my case, 1920x1080.3. In that window, click on "Make text and other items larger or smaller" [Control Panel, Appearance and Personalization, Display].4. If not checked, check "Let me choose one scale level for all my displays".5. Change the size of all items to 125% (or what ever number you want). In 15.6" 1920x1080 screens, 125% is perfect.6. I think you have to restart the PC now.7. Open Chrome 37.0.2062.103 m8. Click on the upper-right corner Chrome Menu's icon, Settings, go all the way down and click on "show advanced settings..."9. In "Web content" section, set page zoom to 125%, and font size to medium. That's all about it, hope it helps. If you're using Windows 8, 7, Vista or XP, it shouldn't be too different. Cheers!
The 32-bit version still performs like a lead weight on my 64-bit Win 8.1 w/GTX 780 Ti (newest drivers) where previous Chrome versions ran silky smooth.
Hi John, I have a Windows 8.1 x64 laptop with an i7-4700MQ 2.4GHz up to 3.4GHz, and a GT 755M.First, the 64 bit edition has nothing to do with your ultra fast GPU. What takes advantage of a 64 bit program is your CPU.Second, I don't think that you can tell if you're running a 64 bit or a 32 bit browser, cause a browser does not need at all a high-end CPU. So that's why there are no x64 bits browsers (or at least they are not important), they'd make no difference. And third, my Chrome is working great as always. The only issue I've had is in version 37 (102) that had this zoom problem. But its speed is as good as always.
I cant update to 103I get "Version 37.0.2062.102 m Update failed (error: 7)An error occurred while checking for updates: Egads! Installation failed. Please try again. Error code = 0x00000000."What's that all about???
This is absolutely fantastic! Thank you for fixing this.I have a 1080p display and have to run Windows 7 at 125% of the normal DPI. When Chrome updated to version 37, some kind of problem with DirectWrite caused all of the text on many webpages to become blurry. This has fixed the issue and everything looks BEAUTIFUL now.For those concerned about how small everything looks, go into Settings and change your Page Zoom to 125% or 150% (these can be found under the Advanced Settings tab near the bottom of the Settings page). That will fix your problem.
Justin Taylor:that solves nothing, because so many websites are not displayed correctly.Google Chrome is now unusable for me.
Ok some of you, we shouldn't have to zoom in on web pages in order to view them. This latest release is a joke and a ton of websites are unreadable for a lot of us making Google Chrome worthless now. I have a 28" monitor at 1080p that looks great with everything native, I shouldn't need to be forced into zooming/enlarging stuff just to read text, I'll happily just switch browsers if that's what Google has planned.
Why use 32 bit Chrome when you can use 64 bit? Much more stable, doesn't crash, very smooth.
This update BROKE scaling on my 1080p monitor! When first updating to 37, all the scaling was perfect for me when set to 125% (Medium/Windows 8.1). Now everything is super tiny as if I was viewing it at 100%. What happened? I was so excited Chrome actually was observing DPI scaling settings and now it looks like it was prior to 37 when I had to disable scaling to ensure it wasn't blurry. Everything is too small. Please fix so that it behaves like other apps and observes scaling correctly.
My chrome never received an update. It is still 36.
Same issue. It appears that fonts with two name parts such as "Arial Bold" are rendering as Times New Roman. Arial renders as Arial just fine.-Windows 7-Chrome 37.0.2062.103Still troubleshooting...
Ok, so everything on my chrome sudden;y shrank. The tabs, the search bar, the font, and the webpages are all super tiny now. It's really annoying. Was this a part of the update or is my computer crazy?
I have the same issue as John since this update my chrome that was working silky smooth turned to omg wtf i am doing... It "lags" when switching from tabs and from windows. It's really anoying and with a gtx 760 and a i5-4670K i dont think my pc is the problem...Any help please? I am thinking about changing to Opera...
I believe the problem has to do with the update. I installed the beta version of chrome and it fixed the issue. here's the link https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/beta.html
Shane, is that v38 beta? Unfortunately I'm not the sysadmin here so I'll have to wait for a stable version instead of using beta.I was starting to wonder if I should recode my site to use normal fonts instead of fonts like Segoe UI Semibold. That would be a workaround, not a fix.At this point, I have to wait for v37 to be fixed or for v38 to go stable, or I recode using different fonts.
I feel like I am getting the opposite problem compared to some other comments' tiny font. I happen to be experiencing big everything--big font, big images, and a big search bar and tabs...and I'm only on zoom 110%. I can zoom back to 100%, but it still does nothing about the search bar and tabs being really big (plus text on 100% zoom is still big to me). Disabling the display scaling DPI setting (which was a solution I was using since the beginning of the year) doesn't work anymore. This is really annoying as the browser was working just fine a few hours ago before I decided to have a break; only to come back, three hours later, to this problem... Really unfortunate as I like using Chrome for leisure and school purposes.I hope this issue gets fixed soon... It still seems like a fresh one, so hopefully it doesn't last long... Otherwise, I might have to switch browsers for a while (which I really don't want to do during the school year).
Same issue here. How do I revert back to the previous version?
Gill Sans is now showing the Ultra Bold font. Same bug as referenced at this link by Mozilla (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=551313) and patched by them. Disabling DirectWrite does fix the issue as expected.
Am I missing something here ? .. What is the point of this update? All my fonts are tiny - I do not want to zoom my windows to 125% then adjust chrome settings to fix that .. I was happy with windows and chrome both set at 100% on my 1920 monitors .. Fix is needed please - why did you not roll out this feature as an option instead of a default ?
Ugh, same problem here. Just updated and now I can't read anything. Fonts are tiny and some pages are even blurry.PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
Opened Chrome today and was treated to a great surprise! Every webpage was zoomed in at an extreme level (175% default) but text was extremely sharper than IE, etc!! It is now set to 100% and is still bigger than what I normally had but that is because of the issue stated below. As a windows user with a 3200x1800 screen resolution, with the disable display scaling on high DPI settings check-marked, this update made text sharper and scaled chrome correctly to my windows 188% scaling option, especially for the size of tabs. Why 188%? I have deemed that scaling the best for this resolution as it gives the user tabs (In correctly formatted applications!) and a taskbar resemblance to 2560x1440 in my opinion. Chrome use to be sharp but only with that setting check marked. If it was not, the program did not support the high DPI screen while IE and Firefox did, while I assume Opera probably did also. Thank you very much for making it easier to return to my favorite browser again. FYI I have the Lenovo 3200x1800 product, and I still have that option check-marked in the compatibility section in properties. I hope this information can help those who are struggling to see an upside to this update.
It looks like this update has some good and some bad. A lot of people are reporting good things about blurry text being fixed, but I'm seeing certain fonts not recognized anymore. Fonts like Segoe UI Semibold or Arial Black are being rendered in the default font. In my case, Times New Roman.I can't figure out if this is a feature I'm supposed to work around or a bug.
Josh, I wanted to test out what you said on my laptop and it seems like your correct. I am still unsure if this is a bug or something that must be worked around yet but I tried changing the standard font to Segoe UI and it didn't really change anything in fact. I checked websites like pocketnow.com, different emails in gmail from the same sender, (and the font is not changed, one Times New Roman, the other idk) my university's website, and others. Nothing changed on my end. Can't say I'm disappointed on my end because tabs were literally so small rendering chrome in 3200x1800 before this update, again I hope this info helps.
I don't truly understand what is happening in the background, but I definitely can tell some fonts are just not being recognized. Thanks for verifying it!I have two screenshots posted here that show the difference on Chome 37 and Internet Explorer 11. You can see in Chrome that some fonts are being rendered as Times (or whatever default font you have Chrome set to)Screenshots:https://docs.google.com/folderview?id=0B6lQQwCnZxHTMi1feWRwQzJqTzA&usp=docslist_api
What did you do with this release??? It's disaster! My pages are zoomed too much, fonts have been changed, my bookmark toolbar is now gigantic!!!
BTW, this is probably the last time I allowed automatic update. No more updating of chrome in the future (after you fix this issue).
Outlook Web App (OWA) running on Exchange 2010 has the following issue when using Chrome [Version 37.0.2062.103 m]: the "To:", "CC:", and "BCC:" hyperlinks the the Global Address List (GAL) no longer work. They worked in previous versions.
Is this gonna be resolved, now that it works on Windows?https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=143619
click on + for a new tab above address barone click but 3 or 4 new tabs openthis has been going on for 3 weeks.do not have a clue why.
also:on gmail accounti always close account.always.yet, very often, when i check Details on bottom right corner..."some sessions have not been closed" bla bla bla (paraphrase)why does it happen if i am 100% certain i closed the account. what are the ideal settings for gmail? maybe my settings (cookie settings are: * keep local data until you quit browser and ** block third party cookies and site data)could it be that the cookie related to session expiration is not loaded????kind regards&thankszee
I feel sad after reading all those comments..World is full of stupid...Really sad.I would go to live in an other planet if that was possible.
I would learn how to write English properly before accusing X or Y of being stupid.I am not an expert on technical matters. That is why I came here, you imbecile.Go on & move to another planet. But learn the local language before moving.
I believe part of the issue is being fixed now. If I read correctly, they're basically adding some code that will restore fonts such as "x semibold" and "x light" and if the font is not installed, it will try to generate it anyway by adding some weight to the standard font, like Arial.I don't browse with other than 100%, so I can't speak to that issue at all. I did see some chatter about it in the bug reports though. Cross your fingers!
But why is chrome the only browser which fonts and scales are dependable on OS fonts and scales? Why does changing of my screen resolution, or windows size in my OS settings, has anything to do with my browser-s settings and appearance? I understand for IE, since it is integrated in Win OS, but why don't you separate that in Chrome? If other browsers can have that, why Chrome can't? I remember I had to change the size of some OS settings just to enlarge my falling menu in Chrome? Why I can't change it in browser settings? I'm already using different browser for last couple of days, for many sites, because, since latest update, my Chrome became very user unfriendly.
