Off to file a bug report... The Linux version is completely unusable on 32-bit Debian. The main browser tabs and browser pages do not allow for any interaction and it does not load the home page, even with --disable-extensions or incognito mode. Can still interact normally with the X to close the tab and can right click and close from the system tray icon. The rest of the browser, though, is completely dead.

Not impressed at all by this newest version.
Version 40.0.2188.2 dev-m (64-bit)

Both here and at work I decided to have a look at the immersive mode. At work the profile disappeared when I switched back to desktop more, and here I have now lost the Profile Avatar at the left hand edge and I'm back to that annoying weirdly shaped profile name button, and the flag options no longer can fix it.

The settings say that with the new profile mode disabled but the avatar menu enabled it would use the old form, but instead that only works in immersive/gaia mode.

Whilst attempting to fix that I also ended up stuck with having to enter a password to get back into using the internet.

Also the memory/resources usage is terrible, with the same windows open and extensions active the new firefox 64-bit version. Chrome uses between 4 and 6 times more memory. At one point I think it went up when I closed a tab!

The extra memory usage might be a 64-bit version issue, because I think my Vista laptop seems to be able to open many more pages without a problem and it doesn't have any more memory

Excessive CPU/Memory usage:

Tab 1 Google Sheets: 1GB
Tab 2 Gmail : 700MB
Tab 3 Google Sheets: 600MB

Random extension or browser usage 100% of one core.

Win7/64-bit

Windows 7 Home Premium

Hangouts plugin works inconsistently, it appears to leave a chrome.exe *32 process running after close (background processes off).

Many plugins cause problems.

Shockwave Flash is problematic. If I use pepper flash plugin performance is slow. If I use Chrome flash plugin it does not work with some sites (http://www.amctv.com/full-episodes/the-walking-dead).
