Just noticed the new bookmark manager when I went to manage my bookmarks. After spending about five minutes with it, I've come to the conclusion that none of your developers or designers actually use more than a few bookmarks and that they likely haven't used the new bookmark manager at all.Small list of the things I noticed in just a few minutes:Cannot open multiple bookmarks at onceCannot sort bookmarksDeselects all previously selected bookmarks when you accidentally hold left mouse click too long and drag the image/bookmark instead of selectingSearching a specific website name in bookmarks brings up all bookmarks that contain the same strings in the website name. e.g.: domain.org brings up all websites that contain ".org"Bookmarks only partially display the website URL and descriptions making it hard to distinguish bookmarks with similar thumbnails and descriptions from the same website (a detailed view would be nice)Thumbnails take up too much visual space and make it hard to manage a large amount of bookmarks (again, a detailed view would be nice)This seems more like a proof-of-concept that belongs in Canary, not about to be released to stable.
I'm on the exact same Chrome version on Dev (Win64 on Win 7) and I can't even create a folder.
Agree with what Stephen said, I've been seeing similar usability issues. Please take a hint from the Firefox bookmark manager, it worked perfectly and was super easy to use.
Could you guys please make it so the bookmark window on the bookmark bar doesn't disappear after I've dragged a bookmark? Click on other bookmarks, drag a bookmark.. window closes. Why?
Using the Chrome beta on Mac OS X Mavericks, used to work fine until this morning. The last beta crash a lot! Most tabs crash at a regular basis, some pages are event turned to blank when using the developer tools (not very handy when you work on a website...).Switched back to stable release in order to work... Hope the next release will fix theses big bugs!
The new Bookmark Manager has been panned in the product forum since beta and nearly every coverage of it, but Google pushed on ahead with no changes...
Hi all,I've been passing all your feedback along to the Stars development team, and I'm hopeful you will see this feedback addressed shortly.Bruce, re: crashing - we have one big known issue with Mac crashing and a fix is scheduled to be deployed shortly - please let me know what your experience is like on the next beta if possible. Re: "blank" pages, can you explain what you mean? Do pages remain white and fail to paint? Or does something else occur? Thanks,Alex
@Alex Mineer : I mean, pages are rendered at first, and then the whole content turns to blank. The inspector shows no content on every request and it's impossible to inspect the source code...I will check the next beta. Thanks for the info.
With this release on Mac the Google Voice plugin is not recognized. Tried to reinstall plugin; nothing.
The Google Earth plugin is also having issues with the 42 beta 32 bitAfter setting the flag chrome://flags/#enable-npapithings still do not work
The Google earth isn't working for me as well, is this going to be fixed?I am also running the 42 beta 32 bit.
browser tabs often crash, when switching between tabs or back from other app.win 8.1 64 bit. (both 32 and 64 bit chrome beta versions do this)
