I'm still getting unresponsive behavior on Windows 10 x64. I installed the x64 over version 44 via Google Update and occasionally I have to minimize and maximize the window just to be able to type text into the address bar/search box and/or forms.... No extensions or extra plugins installed... Most peculiar behavior.

@Mike T, go to the Settings, click on "Show advanced settings...", scroll down to the "System" section, and untick the checkbox on the left of "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed".
@ l33t4g - I also thought that the System Setting you referred to - the checkbox on the left of "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed" might have been the problem - and looked at it before posting above.
The check box is still unticked - as it was before I installed the update.

Andrew Delirious, that functionality is slowly rolling out to the stable channel in a staged capacity, it will be enabled by default for everyone in the coming days.
One problem I note with Chrome 45 that worked in Chrome 44: Javascript URLs stopped working. Maybe this is a security feature, but I like to use javascript URLs for quick calculations like: javascript:new Date(1441286159515) To translate a System.currentTimeMillis() to a readable date.
Great to have the security fixes and enhanced dev tools - thank you! We have seen a layout issue introduced in this release - specifically, tables are not rendering correctly. Previous Chrome version and all other competitor browsers all OK. Hope the problem can be patched soon :)
@Mike T we are seeing the same symptoms ("Your profile could not be opened correctly.") on many, if not all, of our Ubuntu 12.04 systems.
Chrome seems to launch OK the first time, but it doesn't quit after the end user closes the last tab/window. Subsequent Chrome launches fail with the above error since the database is still locked by the initial Chrome incarnation.
If you run htop you can press F4, type "chrome" then type "k" (and hit enter) as many times as necessary until the last instance of Chrome quits. Then you can launch it again with no error message.
This behavior is independent of the "continue running background tasks" checkbox. It's a pretty annoying bug.
Since upgrading to this verions of Chrome, when I resize a window - it is very slow and laggy rendering. I have a black window of the area that is not yet resized, my scrollbar disappears and it is not as fast as it was with the previous version, but slow and very visible.. Previously, on Windoows 7 64 bit I had no issues with embedded flash on a site. Now, I've got that old CPU spiking issue, and I can't move my mouse around once the flash has started. I've installed Adobe's flash player, but it doesn't appear in the plugins list for me to try the old disable the native plugin trick.

I had the same issue with Chrome crashing at startup every time. If you are using Comodo's antivirus, they seem to be conflicting in my case. I uninstalled Comodo, and now Chrome version 45 runs fine.

I am experiencing the same problem as Mike T and Sam Scott on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The first launch of Chrome is fine. If I close all of the render windows and it relaunch from zygote, I see "Your profile cold not be opened correctly". If I close the windows and kill all chrome processes, it will again start correctly the first time but experience the same problem. I tried unchecking "continue running background tasks" with no effect.
I also see nacl_helper consuming unusually high CPU when all of the windows are closed.
I'm having a problem with the PDF viewer plugin. It's rendering inline PDFs the size of a postage stamp with big white background rather than the normal grey. The resize controls are not visible when the PDF viewer is this size either. I have to resize the window to have the embedded iframe realise the true size. This has only started happening since Tuesday's release of chrome.

I've tested in four diferent computers and two distinct networks.
I really wish google would post some more useful highlights in their notes, especially breaking changes in behavior. For example this release seems to have 1) added hard-fail on weak DHE keys (logjam) 2) added hard-fail for TLS fallback. For example if the server claims to supoprt TLS 1.2 but connection fails when using that level, the connection yields ERR_SSL_FALLBACK_BEYOND_MINIUM_VERSION error (it use to just retry connecting using TLS 1.1, then 1.0 as necessary).
I do not disagree with either of these changes from a security standpoint, but is very annoying to say the least when things suddenly break. It makes more work for us to diagnose work around for ourselves and various customers.

Windows 10: pages irresponsive after some minutes of usage for me, too. As I see, other people also mentioned this. Plugins disabled, reinstalled, incognito mode and every possible fix was tried. Seems like a bed version, it happened about 1-2 years ago, too, the next release fixed it.

I have a table using a fixed width and display:inline-block for cells. This works fine in other browsers and in Chrome till Chrome 45. In 45 I get extra spacing on the left hand side of my cells..

I am experiencing the same problem as Mike T and Sam Scott on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The first launch of Chrome is fine. If I close all of the render windows and it relaunch from zygote, I see "Your profile cold not be opened correctly". If I close the windows and kill all chrome processes, it will again start correctly the first time but experience the same problem. I tried unchecking "continue running background tasks" with no effect.
I also see nacl_helper consuming unusually high CPU when all of the windows are closed.

I'm having a problem with the PDF viewer plugin. It's rendering inline PDFs the size of a postage stamp with big white background rather than the normal grey. The resize controls are not visible when the PDF viewer is this size either. I have to resize the window to have the embedded iframe realise the true size. This has only started happening since Tuesday's release of chrome.
As a newbie to the internet, this info has proved to be particularly helpful. Thanks!

Like someone said above: WordPress Dashboard menu gets messed up when moving mouse over menu links. This occurs on Chrome Ver 45 but it does not happen with Chrome Ver 44 , IE11, Edge, or FireFox.
I've tested in four diferent computers and two distinct networks.
I really wish google would post some more useful highlights in their notes, especially breaking changes in behavior.
For example this release seems to have
1) added hard-fail on weak DHE keys (logjam)
2) added hard-fail for TLS fallback. For example if the server claims to supoprt TLS 1.2 but connection fails when using that level, the connection yields ERR_SSL_FALLBACK_BEYOND_MINIUM_VERSION error (it use to just retry connecting using TLS 1.1, then 1.0 as necessary).
I do not disagree with either of these changes from a security standpoint, but is very annoying to say the least when things suddenly break. It makes more work for us to diagnose work around for ourselves and various customers.

Actualization causes an error on jQuery Mobile.
Evernote Web Clipper all messed up. See Evernote forums for graphics of problem. I start clipping a page, the Clipper gets another. Using 45.0.2454.85 on Windows 7.

The failure of Chrome to quit is affecting all our Ubuntu 12.04 machines and the resulting "your profile could not be opened" error is confusing users and generating lots of support calls.
1. Please add the option to restore or not tabs when opening Chrome, it's annoying to close all tabs every time i exit the browser.
