Question: is all Linux support ending? I know the 32-bit one is. I've got the 64-bit version installed, yet I'm still getting a message saying support for it is ending soon.

Daniel Bartlau said...

Nope, just the 32-Bit build of the Linux version will be discontinued.

Garpu said...

Huh, cool. So it's just a message to everyone on Linux that some LInux support is ending?

Is there a way to switch from the current TAB to the previous last visited tab when several tabs are opened on the same chrome browser window? For example ctrl+q could be the shortcut to allow this task. THANKS.

What about https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=544550 ? It's still not fixed. And it's already 3 months passed since bug was reported. WTF?

This is nit about the narrative in the blog post. The English phrase "Watch out for" is misused in this case, as the Chrome and Chromium blogs are not something for concern. Instead one might write "Look for" to indicate an invitation to seek more of the details of the update changes in the Chrome and Chromium blog posts.

Bill / Lewis

Okay Bill apologize for my comment only come here to try to help the questioning of many other users that is the lack of changes in Google Chrome little changes from one version to another, sorry if I took the focus of the conversation did not post more comments like this and has removed the previous review. I thought the blog was a way of expressing our opinion and contribute to the chrome project because I believe Google Chrome potential so I'm user since the first version. I apologize once more take the focus of this blog / project. Thanks,

Got the same issue as Garpu - every time Chrome starts up on Linux I get the message "This computer will soon stop receiving Google Chrome updates because this Linux system will no longer be supported".

Any way to silence that message?

David, which distro are you using, out of curiosity?

Hello.
For some reason if you close chrome while still having tabs open those tabs will open again when you restart chrome. This got into the beta channel and for that reason I came back to stable. Now you bring it into stable? What? Doesn't make any sense. Isn't that what Ctrl + Shift + T for?

2:25 PM, January 21, 2016
Rob Janssen said...

@Andres Jimenez: this has been in Chrome for as long as I can remember. Just go to settings -> On startup. There are 3 options:

* Open the New Tab page
* Continue where you left off
* Open a specific page or set of pages ()

When you choose the second option Chrome will restore tabs on startup. And, again, this has been in Chrome since it's infancy AFAIK.

@Alexander The fix for that issue landed on Dec 11 so it probably won't reach Stable Chrome until version 49 unfortunately.

What is the point of having security links if none of them are actually accessible / readable by the public:

403. That’s an error.

Your client does not have permission to get URL /p/chromium/issues/detail?id=497632 from this server. That’s all we know.

[CC]

Read the part that says:

"Note: Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix. We will also retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed."

There you go.

I would like the suggest for Google Chrome a option in menu the users give her the suggestion for google chrome. Each could give suggestions for new options, layouts and resources to be implemented in the browser that's my opinion.
