With this release, URLs listed in policy URLWhitelist are not allowed if URLBlacklist contains "*". To work around the problem, add "http://*", "https://*", etc. to URLBlacklist. Whitelisted URLs with matching prefixes will be allowed.
Our users have been experiencing issues since version 60.0.3112.1.90 (the one that came right before this). After updating to this version, the issue persists.
Pop-up windows are loading blank pages. Oddly, if we leave the pop-up window open and click the link again, that pop-up window will load the content. Obviously, not a long-term solution. Pages work fine in IE10, 11, and Edge, though.
Pop-up windows are being loaded using javascript with the following type of template (leaving out some characters so filter doesn't pick up the scripts:
a onclick "javascript:runThisFunction(value1, 'string1'); return false;" href "javascript:void(0)">Click me!! /a
Oddly, only appears to be affecting some machines, but definitely started with version one of the two recent updates.
After some extensive testing, it appears this is a new bug in Chrome. If it isn't a bug, then it's still a new something =)
Here is the odd behavior I experienced:
See the below code. It's HTML with inline javascript. Note that it's a bit broken, as I had to edit it to get the comment to be accepted.
a oncliick=''javascript:runThisFunction(value1, 'string1'); return false;'' href=''javavscript:void(0);''>Click Me!!! /a
Now, here was my testing: 3. Click on the hyperlinked "Click Me!!!" text. 3. You get a blank pop-up. We've confirmed that the issue does exist. Go ahead and close the pop-up. 4. Hover mouse over the "Click Me!!!" hyperlink. 5. Right-click > Inspect 6. Developer console appears with the element fully expanded. 7. Double-click the contents of the onclick attribute to go into "edit" mode. Edit a character in there and hit Enter to save. 8. Now, double-click the same area again and reverse your change. Hit Enter to save. 9. Go back and click the "Click Me!!!" hyperlink. The pop-up loads correctly this time.
In the end, no code was actually changed. All I did was modify the DOM and then reverse the change. This action apparently triggered Chrome to do something that then fixed the issue.
We had our users clear their browser cache and that resolved the issue. Browser cache clearing was attempted earlier in the week with no success, but it seems to work today. Thank you all.
The new forced-material-design history doesn't just look different, it's broken. Lots of the history is missing, because it now only shows the most recent visit to a site. Eg. I've separately visited two different pages of a site within the space of about ten minutes, but History only shows the top-level site and only the most recent visit. I don't hate change for the sake of change, and I could get used to the new look, but this has borked my workflow and now I have to spend time adapting to find a new way of working.
Would there be a live link to download the stable 60.x.x.x release? I've been looking for 30 minutes because the version I have 59.0.3071.115 (Official Build) (64-bit) gives this error using "Help|About Google Chrome".
