Upgraded to this on Friday, December 15, 2017 around 8 AM EST.

This was before this thread was posted on the Chrome Releases website.

The detailed build information states that the build date was Tuesday, December 12, 2017.

Why is there a delay of several days between the build date and the release date?

Now I've noticed that on my Samsung Chromebook 2, when the autohide shelf is turned on, it's not showing that semi-transparent color for the shelf, it's just clear. Didn't use to do that before.

My Acer C720p takes FOREVER to get updates. It gets some of them, like it got Chrome 61, which is the version it has now. When I try to update it it says "your chromebook is up to date" Oh well at least my Samsung Chromebook 2 has the 63 update

Still waiting, but not surprised.

Google's developers work in an alternate reality where time flows at a different rate. "A few days" in their reality could be anything from more than an hour to never in ours.

@ps_canon OTOH it could be android apps causing the delay. I have noticed this year that these delays only started as android apps approached a stable release. Personally I would prefer stability rather than immediate release.

@Richard Kleeman PERSONALLY, I would prefer to receive bug fixes and security patches to the core distribution than be delayed by providing Play Store access to older platform Chromebooks taht are within 2 years of end of support.

I still think that it is incomprehensible that Google needs to maintain more than 40 different sub-distributions of Chrome OS. That is as bad as depending on carriers and manufacturers to release "updated" Android distributions.

Maybe Google should ask IBM for help in using an AI to debug and modularize the Chrome OS code. :-D

Merry Christmas

Sent to you via Acer 14 with the Chrome 62 version. My updates usually come just in time that they might push me over my monthly Verizon plan data limit.

To my big surprise I've found out that Google Chromebook is the worst thing you can have for editing photos. Very very poor quality when you used the built-in photo editor on a Acer Chromebook 14. Thanks for destroying all of my photos. In fact Chromebooks is no good at all. Stopped using apps and playstore because it's also not and never will be functional as you have it on a Tablet. In fact Chromebooks is my worst nightmare and investment. I should have known better. But know i know and i will go back to Linux. At least they can do a great job for editing photos. Chromebooks sucks big time.🤐

Still no OS63 update for Acer CB3-431. It's going on 2 weeks, folks. Even tried a powerwash with the MS Windows mentality of "Well, if the software won't install/update, wipe it, start again." Never had to do this before, not happy.

Stop following this blog for news about new ChromeOS releases (unless you want to experience the "new release - not yet available" feeling every month). Just use this site to look up the latest version available for your device: https://cros-omahaproxy.appspot.com/
