How can I get the old design back? The new one hurts my eyes a little and makes everything look more crunched together than usual

Why is everyone suddenly changing to shitty "modern" fonts?

The new design sucks; change for change's sake is pointless. Bring back the old format.

Since the update, any attempt to access bookmarks or browsing history makes Chrome crash! Rebooting the phone doesn't help. Please fix this ASAP!

Cleaner, more modern design? No contrast isn't cleaner. More like *beep* your eyes. Give me option to use the old design.

PS: while you're at it please fire the whole Chrome design team. Thank you.

Text appears broken in Google News - seeing this for the first time. Just mousing over fixes it (only to break in another section soon after!). Anyone else seeing this? I'm running Chrome on Windows 10.

Also not a fan of the new design. It feels like the tabs are taller giving the me the sense that they are taking up more space.

Horrible new design, that unneccessarily eats up more space (alongside RAM). Revert it, or except people to leave for Firefox.

Have problem to update, all my android phone can not update to chrome 69 as well as the latest version code is displayed as 69 on my play store. That's strange.

Please change it back. The new version's taskbar is just simply too big and takes up way too much space.

The new design is absolutely terrible. I loved the previous design and never bothered with themes because of it. Because I am using a custom Windows 7, Aero looked amazing with the Chrome style. This design will force me to now use a theme because of how ugly the bookmarks bar is along with the baby bumper style tabs.

I won't even bother requesting you change it back because you won't. This is how these things go with your designers. Once a decision is made you can't go back because you don't have the courage to admit you made a mistake.

Hi all! If you want to change back to the old UI, you can go to chrome://flags, look up "top-chrome-md" or "UI Layout for the browser's top chrome" and change it from "Default" to "Normal". Relaunch your browser and it should look like it did.

New appearance looks like crap. Old appearance was way better on the eye. Give the option to change back please.

The contrast issues here will not pass any accessibility checks. (is anybody at Google checking?) The rounded corners are nasty. The new 'New Tab' look is three steps back. In the old one you at least got a look at a preview of the page now we get Favicons?? Please, how do I revert?

I have switched to Firefox after the horrible Material Design "refresh" of Chrome. My chrome home page became a desert of white space, with my most used sites, which were previously identifiable at a glance, reduced to minute favicons and microscopic text.

I have switched back to the old UI, and when Google decides to purge it from Chrome I most definitely WILL switch to Firefox. Already working on a Chrome lookalike theme for FF.

Some website margin is broken when opened with version 69. Please check...

p.s.: the one I found broken is -> when you set "margin: 0 auto 0 auto", or in another word, when the website try to horizontally center an element...

If you want to change back to the original, better looking chrome browser then follow these steps:

1) type "chrome://flags/#top-chrome-md" into your address bar. No quotation marks.
2) Under "UI Layout for the browser's top chrome" (it should be the first option) change the box from "default" to "normal".
3) Restart your browser and you're done. Say goodbye to pointless ugly change for the sake of pointless ugly change.

An unwelcome change, what was the rationale for rounding off everything? all it does is create compositional noise

Please consider in a future update, considering its not in this one.
To allow users to completely revert the visual changes to chrome. The home page not having thumbnails is a straight downgrade, as well as the tabs at the top (which are currently revertable thankfully enough). I also preferred the old search bar suggestions size as well.

Personally I gained nothing from this visual update and lost the homepage thumbnail functionality and I'd really like to go back.

Agree with everyone else, the update is a step backwards. New buttons are too large and clunky, looks childish. Loosing homepage frequent tabs is a downgrade, too. Please, we're all adults using here, we don't need big gaudy buttons
