v69 was awesome. Linux app support is huge.

I wish v70 would just die in a fire.

It seems like Google is just trying to out-Apple Apple here. The Icons are all HUGE now, taking up space. The BIG rounded corners mean BIG margins, which... takes up space. It leaves me feeling like I'm playing with some pre-schooler's device. Every single element is now taking 20% more space.

And taking up all that space has real costs. No longer do notification icons show up individually. Now it's just a single dot and a number. This means I can no longer tell from a glance *which* applications are notifying me, and thus how important it is. And the notification icon showing current outside temp from my weather app? Nope, that's gone.

I tried turning various material design elements off in chrome://flags, but they don't actually do anything.

I'd wipe it and go back to stable, but I'd just end up with this jammed down my throat in a couple more weeks anyway.

This is 100% form over function.

Personally, I also don't love the design of this version. I haven't seen any of the behind-the-scenes functionality changes yet, but I think that the previous look of the UI was significantly better.

I really like the design, using an Acer R11, especially while using the touchscreen this is a significant improvement.

Did they remove clear all notification? I can only remove them one by one now.

I would just like to add my voice against the shelf redesign. This giant grey bar at the bottom of the screen with poorly-spaced oversized icons is an eyesore and really detracts from the simplicity of the ChromeOS UI.

I'm all for the tab bar Material Design refresh and the new system menu looks fine, but the shelf needs to die in a fire.
