Hate the removal of the protocol from the URL.
Come on, put the http:// back! Or, put in a more Google-ly way: the removal of http:// leads to a 0.5 sec increase in getting the user to focus on the Omnibox--> bad UI change!
Sweet, you guys fixed the extra whitespace on the NTP!The recently closed tab bar is weird though, a bit buggy, not sure I see what you're trying to do with it... oh well keep up the good work! :)
Love the update! Color scheme looks great in Windows 7.
OMG ! Move the bookmark star back to the left please!
This update breaks Google Reader on my end. Star/comment on the issue here if you're affected:http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=43500
Google Reader seems generally unusable with this release.
Very very very disappointed with this update!
Even the "Report bug or broken website" isn't work. Submitting the form gives an error message.
Can you resume to show "http://" or give us an option to turn it on or not? I like to use http:// more. Then, Chrome also change submit form, but it can't submit and report some bug right now.
Break it, break it, keep on breaking it - just see these wankers scream.
God, stop trying to tell us what to like and ADD OPTIONS to enable/disable these new changes:- icon on omnibar.- star icon moved to right.- default color.- new tab animation.Add a tab in options called Appearance, simple as that.
It looks like even though it doesn't show the "http://", it does add "http://" to the clipboard if you copy the entire address.
I'm with Seyss, stop forcing these little changes and allow the user to select to turn them on or off.
Those of you who want options for everything should read this, it made me think twice of putting lots of options in my programs:http://www.joelonsoftware.com/uibook/chapters/fog0000000059.htmlI personally like all of the changes, hopefully the GReader and Report a Bug bugs will be fixed quickly. Very annoying.
Very nicely done! Thanks Google Dev Team! :)
Can we take 5 minutes for a public service message here. Some of you need to be reminded that this is the DEV version of Chrome. If you are not a fan of frequent, multiple changes, some of which you won't agree with, then you DONT need to be contributing to the Dev version. People that begin their "comments" with demands instead of suggestions DONT need to be contributing to the Dev version. It looks even more rediculous when you threaten to "go back to firefox" if your demands aren't met. Now, if you want to be a constructive contributor to the DEV VERSION, then please, act like civilized people. Understand there will be changes, and there will even be some you don't agree with. And you know what, thats fine, there are quite a few changes made recently that I don't agree with. But freakin act like you've contributed to a project before and follow the guidelines for submitting suggestions and bugs. You can even not like things like removing the http from the address bar. If so, create or star the appopriate issue. If enough people star the issue, more than likely it will get fixed over time. "Move the damn star back to the left or else" does nothing but make you look like its your second day on the internet. End of PSA
You moved the favorites star BACK to the omnibox why?
After seeing all these people complaining about these UI changes. I just wanted to say I like them and am glad you're getting rid of the protocol in the address bar. Thanks.
starhttp://blue colorplease bring them back!
The star position is good.Bring the "http://" back!Bring the blue colour back!
1. cannot drag star to fav folder or favourite menu.2.how to change color??
And now deleting comments? if you do not want people to make it so stop making updates as smelly, people had already opined against the bunch of bookmarks and had taken off, receiving full support, and now again it implemented? whether they will do something for the people then listen to what they want(Using his translator to express myself better in my language, if the translation does not make much sense to you, it's not my fault)
The Google devs should pull a "benevolent dictator" approach and simply, as well as finally, keep the changes to the UI/Omnibar as they are again in this version. No "http://"?While I was a little suprised the first time the "http://" disappeared I really like it ... it IS useless.Bookmark Star on the right? Also fine with me(just don't move the window buttons to the left ;))Background of the top (Nav bar / Bookmark bar / tabs) not baby blue?THANK YOU for making it grey instead ... Windows 7 is already wrecking my nerves with that Kindergarten color-scheme to no end.Keep the UI this way, Google - KEEP IT!
It's gray again, are you serious? Put the blue back!!!!!
personally not too worried about the http://, but really don't like having to use ctrl+shift+b to invoke the bookmark bar. Besides that, no worries - still fast.
Btw, what changes could we expect for the dev branche in this release?I do like the new UI, but I guess it's better to morph the stop/reload button with the go button.
Looks like the list view of most visited for the new tab page is broken. Hopefully it will come back next release.http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=43523
Good job! don't put the http:// back!
Yes, don't put the http:// back!!111Haha, I love how passionate we're about that change. :p It's the minimalists against the perfectionists pitted in an epic comment battle on the Internet. :p
I love the new changes, Chrome looks really nice and polished with this Build :)By the way: Google Reader works fine here. What exactly isn't working for you?
pls put back the UI changes...star on right is very un-useful.
As many of you said, its a Dev version, i don't think we should care too much about colors or esle! A tweak options would be perfect for everyone i think!Guys stop bitching about tweaks tell us what is not working instead it will be much more usefullFor me when clickinh "compose mail" ans start typing a name for the auto-fill to kick i get the list of people but when i click on it nothing happen! The flash player is really bumpy for me, especially on the incognito mode which i used almost all the time as i surf at work!
Since installing this update on my Mac, Chrome crashes every time I launch it.
Besides all, I am completely against the stripping of "http://".Since after all that part is sill important for an URI, why you strip that off just because it looks nicer? However for lots of websites, still, http:// is required for automatic link detection.
@The MAZZTerSo I think the clear answer would be to remove this "remove http://" feature. No other browsers would ever do this, and I respect the decision of chromium team, however I just don't think that this is a good idea.
Thank you Google for making me happy by changing the theme back to the original blue color theme only to change it back to the ugly grey color a few days later. Really made my day.
heya,I just have to say, I actually quite like the UI changes *grins* (well, most of them). And those that I don't like, well, meh, it's no biggie. Chrome is still all the thingI like it for - fast, responsive, lightweight, and standards-compliant.Flash still sucks balls, but oh well. And look, to reiterate what a few others have said - to all you whiny little schoolboys: please stop your incessant ranting, and threats against the Chromium developers to "go back to Firefox". By all means, go back, please. They wrote the damn thing. Sure, you can voice your discontent, and I certainly would, if I really felt strongly - but in a constructive fashion. But ultimately, at the end of the day, it's their code, and they've open-sourced it. If you want, fork it. But please, stop with the immature ranting, it's really getting on my nerves.Cheers,Victor
please check bug report here, http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=43525 If you see same behavior as described and shown in screenshots, please star it.Thanks.
" It looks even more rediculous when you threaten to "go back to firefox" if your demands aren't met." - Yes, it was me, too, explaining that 1 part of the changes are not helping the user, and that there are other solutions on the market, like Firefox. Unfortunatly you, guys, at the other side - yes, other side, because it seems to me, that we start not to be at the same side - why not to explain the changes? For example, explain us, please, why is better the bookmark star at the right side? This change makes dificult to click on it: when, for some reason, the length of the address field is changed, your brain have to work to find the new right position. Before the changement, the star was at a fix position: everybody got used to find it automatically, without thinking on it, at 1, not changing position. Now, I'm - we are - waiting your explanation, because you never explained the benefits of this changement. Please communicate, EXPLAIN, why are, what you think, improvements better things, and in what way, because the changements you are doing, are not feeled for evolution, but a difficulty to live with it.Mmmbacon, you are stepping on very thin ice. When you decide that what you read is a demand and not a suggestions, you, mainly, spend your energy to not communicate explanations, but to push the critics in 2 baskets. One is bad, the other is not. Please, think more behind the scene: why many people, using YOUR terminology, are writings these demands? Are you sure these ara real demands and not critics, explaining, that something is not having the quality of - yes, now, it is a good word: - demands. Until now, I thought that the development of any kind of product is to satisfy the demand of users. Now you are explaining, that we can't express our demands, but have wishes. The market, where you, your company, try to make benefits, pay attention for your product, when it meets the demands - even when people don't know that they have them. If I wish something, it doesn't mean, that later, I will buy it, I will use it.Think of it guys, or hopefully, those people should think of it who wants to satisfy the demands of users. It was very interesting to read these two sentences in 1 article:"People that begin their "comments" with demands instead of suggestions DONT need to be contributing to the Dev version."AND"It looks even more rediculous when you threaten to "go back to firefox" if your demands aren't met."Why can we have demands but not communicate them? Why do we have to express only suggestions? Why is ridiculous to use a solution, which satisfy more, yes, our demands? Please, explain us, we are so interested.
Please, explain us, why is better to have a globe and a "find" icon (functionality = 0)?Please, explain us, why to have the find icon, when I can type www addresses too. Why isn't it confusing?I suggest - not demand, because you have explained us, that it's a bad thing to express them - to suppress the confusing "find" icon, because you can not only typing serch terminolgy, but http addreesses, too.
I like the current removal of http etc. - with all my respect to Tim Berners-Lee, it's redundant. In fact, it could even be considered that the whole http://www. - when it is a part of the URL - is replaced by an icon, a modified globe or something else.http occupies the space for 1 extension icon, and www. for another extension icon. The cliboard's copy now puts everything it should, so I am fully satisfied with the current treatment of the clipboard. The creators shouldn't selectively listen to those who protest because this is not how a balanced poll is made.
I don't care about the damn star!I don't care about the damn http://!I don't care about the grey-`90s color! It's a great browser and that's that. But there are a lot of Chrome users that do care about all those things. And it would be nice if you would add the OPTION to make those changes, and not impose them like IE tech guys. Best regards,DS.
best version ever!!!
why? that's easy .....SPDY://
I really deeply dislike the removal of the protocol, and not only is its replacement ugly (the pale blue globe) but the Refresh-Whitespace-Globe-Whitespace-URL combo actually HURTS to look at.1. Add the protocol back in, or I'm downgrading to the Beta channel or past Dev releases, and you will cease to get my 30 or so crash reports a day. I don't care that the Copy/Paste issues have been fixed (why did they exist in the first place? First thing I thought is how on Earth do I copy/paste the protocol?)… It's mainly the appearance that disturbs me. Again, does Refresh-Space-Pastel Globe-Space-URL make sense in any universe?2. Move the Bookmark Star back to its rightful location. I **BOOKMARK** more than I Refresh, so it's quite painful for me to have to find where the damn star is. It's also EXTREMELY UGLY in pale blue, as well as suffering from the same whitespace trauma as the Globe... I have the RSS extension so I have to look at Orange Square -> Whitespace -> Blue Star -> Whitespace -> "Play/Go" button (????)In fact, I am deeply moved by this reversion, and the continual shift between one URL bar style and the other has actually shaken my faith in those who develop Chromium/Chrome, and it makes me look bad when I've so strongly supported this browser, only to have these extremely poor design decisions being made against all judgment, and much hatred from the user base (IT'S ALREADY BEEN REVERTED ONCE!!!).So please just give up on the ideas for these silly URL/Omnibar changes. They are drastic, misguided, and tragically ugly to look at… and most of all… UNNECESSARY!
Some productive suggestions, I hope they get noticed amongst all the annoying complaints,-The star should retain the drag & drop functionality (I'm sure this has been noted already).-I like the hidden http, but I think it'd be really easy to add a context menu option to toggle it on the omnibar. I don't think this would be too cluttered and would keep everyone happy.-The security info popup should mimic the extension popups and not take control of the page. The new changes aren't perfect but it's a step in the right direction. Keep up the good work.
bookmark manager doesn't work for me in this release!
Love the UI changes, especially the window color and protocol removal. This release breaks commenting on Reddit, though. Not sure if you have to get Reddit to fix it on their end, but it'd be nice if you guys looked into it.
YEES the fav stern is now right (YEES)
no commment GOOGLE TEAM STOP PLAYING ARD WITH GUI ....
Please please please give us an option to bring back the http:// in the omni-box.
Thanks for fixing the toolbar and omnibox, this is the best so far. The new UI is the best. No need for the clutter.
Why is my flash plugin do not update to 10.1.53.38? i am stuck with 10.1.53.22 that is really sketchy!!!fix the flash integration instead of loosing time playing with chnaging color or star position!
God, stop trying to tell us what to like and ADD OPTIONS to enable/disable these new changes:- icon on omnibar.- star icon moved to right.- default color.- new tab animation.Add a tab in options called Appearance, simple as that.@The MAZZTer:Users aren't obligated to choose these options. It'll have a default value!I understand your concern but if you allocate options properly in a well-written dialog it WILL BE BETTER than forcing option on users! (look at Firefox.. they have tons of options in a beautiful option dialog)
I'll take a crack at not only saying that I like the UI changes, but also explaining why I like them.Star on the Right: This change places the bookmark icon next to the other icons I'm likely to click (extensions). So my cursor is doing less work by not having to cross the width of the screen as often. Also for those threatening to "go back to firefox", where do you think the firefox star is?http:// Truncation: I like this change because it fits with Chrome's minimalist look. Showing the protocol is redundant most of the time. The change also places more emphasis on the actual website you are on making it easier to spot phishing sites. I'm sure either an option or, more likely, an extension will appear soon to replace the protocol.Gray Color: I actually can't say if I like this change or not because I'm using a THEME. I didn't like the old default color so I found one I did like. If the new default color is not for you the I suggest finding a new theme, there are a lot and I'm sure there is one you will like.
For anyone that prefers the light blue color.https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/oppbdedflbioggjkeneigjcmpomohajo?hl=en
Looks clean without the 'http' (and is still copied to clipboard, great), but why not also remove the trailing '/' sign after the address?
www.intel.com dosen't workla pagina de intel no funciona
http://www.hirkereso.hu/: 35-50% CPU every time
I like all the UI changes except for the yucky grey theme (looks ok in Vista but terrible in Win7). I believe a Classic Theme option is in order.I agree with @telios, although I like the UI changes, a little more transparency and explanation in the UI decisions in the blog would be appreciated.
quicktime is no longer working!
Please move the bookmark star back where it was before!
Apparently people don't realize that they are on the development channel and are going to see more changes more often. If the world listened to complainers and protestors, we'd still be in the dark ages. Stow it and provide some constructive criticism instead. Don't just tell them what to change, suggest a method to improve it (And don't just demand that they put it back where it was)I personally can't wait to see what the Dev Team has in store for us in the future...Things I'd Like to See: 1. Drag and Drop functionality to move around (UI) items on the Omnibar. 2. Bookmark sync with my Android device (password and settings would also be nice)3. The enabling of the Application Shortcuts in the Mac version. 4. Reduce the browsers ability to keep sites from hijacking the right click menu (Google Docs, in particular)
You don't need Quicktime! Steve Jobs said it himself, you only need H.264 video which is to be embed into a browser via HTML5! but i need support now you say, you should join the Flash Developer self help support group cause it's probably how they feel :-)
@mmmbacon: well said, thank youpersonally, I like the changes and this version works fine for me in Reader and everywhere else I have tried so far (Mac).
I do like the changes, and I liked in the past too.The "http://" don't give you more info that is "http", and you guys know that (the common user even don't see it, or WRITE the "http://", never!!), the internet site almost always use the http protocol, except for that sites like Gmail or PayPal that use the "https" protocol, and for that sites, Chrome show you an icon and a green color to specify that is "https".Now, the star of the bookmarks, I really like it in this new position. And the tab effect and the color changes, is so cool. And being honest, I don't see what is the problem with these changes, if you don't like them, then go back to the Stable or Beta versions :PHave a nice day community :)
@mmmbacon:I'm really agree with you!! :)
Nice gray style! I'm lovin' it! :)
I personally love all the new changes, glad to see them back. makes everything look cleaner and more sleek. i do wish the grey was a slightly darker shade, a little similar to safari, maybe even a little blueish (see Chuck Anderson's theme i think its perfect)... but no biggie at all.
Sorry but I don't like gray color scheme, and the "reload" button position is bad, users are confused with so much UI changes!I think that UI changes in this new build are wrong.PS: Please come back blue scheme color!
Thank you Mmmbacon for saying what the silent majority were thinking. The sense of entitlement of some users on the dev channel is scary. The funniest thing is outraged users demanding options to change the default colour, instead of just lifting a finger to find/create a theme.
The "http" keyword removal looks good. But the "New tab" has "Most visited" and "Recently closed" words mentioned, which does not look good. Please revert this back
HiltonLange: "Thank you Mmmbacon for saying what the silent majority were thinking." - Maybe you are right, but how do you know, what the majority is thinking? Can you explain us, please?
New UI rocks. End of story.Puts more focus on the omnibox. Minimalist design at its finest. If anything, I think the bookmark star should remain where it is, and as a blue outline; but when clicked, should become a solid blue star, not a yellow star with a blue outline.
please re-add this features!"Once you have one pinned tab, you can drag other tabs to the left side of the window to make those tabs pinned as well."
"The funniest thing is outraged users demanding options to change the default colour, instead of just lifting a finger to find/create a theme." - there is no theme with the original colors and the way to create a new scheme is not for everyone to.
I like :)
with this update I can't mark news as read in Google Reader! fix it please! :(
"there is no theme with the original colors and the way to create a new scheme is not for everyone to."As I posted before, here is a copy of the old blue theme.https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/oppbdedflbioggjkeneigjcmpomohajo?hl=en
"As I posted before, here is a copy of the old blue theme." - Thanks for it.
I think that you may give it a change, maybe you will like it later, after you test it with more calm.Chrome is in my opinion the web browser that break down the boring standards of IE and Firefox, so, why not accept these new changes? What do you think? :)
@Mongo thanks for the theme.
5.0.375.29 beta, Mac OS X 10.6.3 (10D573) - I'm getting a lot more "Aw, Snap!" errors with this latest release. In fact I almost never got them before now, I'll get them every session with the app.
please move the reload button to the left of the home button. i now find myself often pressing the wrong button.
Glad to see these changes back. Thanks guys!
if anybody wants to know:DOWNLOAD THIS THEME and it will turn BLUE again https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/oppbdedflbioggjkeneigjcmpomohajo?hl=enand i like the changes please never change it back
'mmmbacon' VERY WELL SAID !! Chrome, I LOVE the updates. Chrome is so smart, cool and fresh. Likes: Slide Tab Animation(LOVE IT)!!D-Likes: Bookmark star on the right But either way, thank you for Chrome
is anyone else having problems with scrolling?
toolbar color and bookmark bar color is different. freak!!!
@Justin Yup, can't scroll as pages load.
works and looks great... thanks
Big fan of the UI changes - keep up the innovations Google Developers!
I've got small feature request. Since i remember chrome is redirecting to search when address is not valid url ie: localhost (or others defined). You have to type http://localhost .Could you make it to check if host exists before you redirect to google search.
@Jerzy write down "localhost/" and it will redirect to http://localhost/
Why again was remove the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+B to open the bookmark manager? It's terrible having to go through the menus to get into there... Sometimes just want to do a quick search, and the shortcut is too handy. Please put it back again.Or maybe I am missing something? It was changed? Because I can't figure out how to do it using just the keyboard. Thanks
"God, stop trying to tell us what to like and ADD OPTIONS to enable/disable these new changes:- icon on omnibar.- star icon moved to right.- default color.- new tab animation.Add a tab in options called Appearance, simple as that.8:19 PM, May 06, 2010"Quote. I Agree. That's the best idea I've read.
Oh it's gray again! Great!(NOT!!)
When I right click a Youtube video on a website to watch it right on Youtube, the pop up blocker blocks it. Same with Vimeo videos. This never happened until this update.
Hi, im with new version 5.0.396.0 but this version take - CPU 30-35%- Mem 360+ (http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/8854/47772240.png)Win7 x64
Installed 5.0.375.29 beta last night when it came through Ubuntu (9.10 Karmic Koala) Update Channel. Flash is crashing Chrome after 30-40 minutes of use.
A bug:If you click the flash embed (ex:youtube), it don't work.It will be blocked. But it I set to allow, it will show in a new window, not a tab. It's not happened in previous version, plz fix it.
I filed a bug with chromium to have flash block built right into chrome, please 'star' if you agree: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=43696
with default grey the native translator bar blue is a pain in the ass. I really think it needs a redesign, at least to match the gray of the bookmark bar! If you agree please star this bug. thanks.http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=43698
This is freezing up on me on a consistent basis for some reason.
Could you add an option to Chrome OSX when we open a New tab ? (Ability to choose the home page for exemple).
After updating to 5.0.936.0 embedded video from YouTube no longer opens in a new tab but reacts as a popup, minimizes itself into a popup warning in the omnibox and begins to play anyway. You can then allow popups but it opens the video in a new window rather than a new tab after that.
The tips on new tabs are at the top right now. I like it.
The new UI changes are excellent.I can't believe this many people are complaining about very minor changes to functionality.Keep on keeping it simple Google :).
new popup-blocker is really annoying: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=43547
Please improve your native translator:http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=43543http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=43542
bookmark manager has some problems:http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=40924
it has a dns resolve bug and it's very annoying:http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=41873
heya,I think I might have to agree with Dogan, though, there seem to be some weird glitches in this build for me.Seems to stall when I try to open it with more than one tab (this is behind a proxy), have to kill all the tabs, open it with only one, then open new ones slowly. Weird, it seemed to work fine before. And Passpack (http://www.passpack.com) seems broken - entering in any Unpacking Key seems to fail, even though the same key, copy/pasted into Firefox, works fine. Very strange.Cheers,Victor
i really like the UI changes and the removal of the protocol
Why are people complaining so much about the http://. Like seriously are you sitting there staring at the http:// or looking at the actual webpage?
heya,Also, I noticed that for some reason, Chrome on Windows doesn't let me type anything into a Google Docs document.Typing into the search bar at Google Docs home works fine, however, if you open a document, and then try to type in anything, nothing happens.I couldn't seem to find anything in Chromium issues, however, is Google Docs working for other people?Cheers,Victor
Instead of the gray, making the color scheme match the Windows color scheme makes more sense to me. The blue always looked a little childish to me, but this gray is really dull. Maybe a slightly darker shade would look better.Star on the right or the left, either way seems fine with me. However, usiong the globe to drag & drop a bookmark instead of the star is definitely counterintuitive and inconsistent. Picking a side and an icon and sticking with it would be best, whichever end of the omnibar it ends up on. Yes, I understand this is dev. Finally, what happened to being able to see tabs individually in the Windows task bar (as in IE and Opera 10.5)? I liked that!
have an option to show/hide the http, and position of the star and refresh button.
@Mongo: We probably wouldn't be so upset if extensions actually could affect Chrome's chrome. In Firefox, extensions can do literally anything (They're runtime patches on the code which drives the browser) which is powerful but risky.Chrome goes the other way, only letting extensions do something after it's proven that they can't cause trouble. (That's why Chrome imposes limits like "one browser action (toolbar button) per extension")That's why people like me are so ticked off when they do things like WontFix-ing the request for / as a Find keybinding. (The Vim keybinding and a de facto standard for a large part of the Linux ecosystem)They're not saying "We won't put it as a default". They're saying "Learn to like it our way or fork Chrome, hack the source code, and publish your own builds" (Not at all a trivial task)
Hey you guys! I just wanted to report this bug. In the latest dev version some (most, actually) animated GIF images are not shown animated.
RealPlayer doesn't work anymore because of internal flash plugin! Can you work with them to make it work please?
The Gray theme shouldn't make it to Beta / Stable, it's disgusting.Ctrl+B =Showing/hiding bookmark's barStar should be on left.don't make the mistake of destroying the UI, stop it !!I changed to the Stable now, I look at the blue theme and I think I'm in love, you promoted chrome as "definitely not gray" now keep that promise because GRAY is GAY !
I like the gray actually. But this build has crashed so much during downloads forcing me stop using it.
Stop trying to tell us what to like and ADD OPTIONS to enable/disable these new changes:- icon on omnibar.- star icon moved to right.- default color.- new tab animation.Add a tab in options called Appearance, simple as that.

It keeps crashing upon launch - totally unusable and lose all tabs. Same for the recent Chromium builds, so I'm reverting to some old Chromium build to use the same profile while waiting for a more stable Chrome dev update. Can I install both stable and dev versions of Chrome to select which one to launch?
Downgraded to Beta version.
This is by far, the most unusable version I've experienced. Randomly a chrome tab will no longer accept clicks or scrolls, then within 2 seconds the entire browser, inclusive of all tabs no longer responds to user input of any kind. I have to kill the process and re-open.Anyone else encountering this?
Same problem as above on Windows 7 x64. The browser becomes unresponsive and there's a chrome.exe process which takes 50% load from CPU and does not want to close even if i close the browser.
heya,Yup, same issue here. Windows XP, Chrome becomes unresponsive (I initially thought it was some DNS issue, because I couldn't open up new sites.), and there's a chrome.exe, using up around 54% CPU.Some tabs then show white space, and opening up new tabs just opens a blank, white new tab. The browser (and some tabs) also refuse to close.Cheers,Victor
Please for the love of all that is just put the bookmark icon/button (star) back on the left. It was more intuitive and looked classier... the star graphic on the right looks cheap.
I am running 6.0.401.1 dev - automatically updated! ;-)
where to find info about new version 6.0.401.1 ?looks beautifull thanks google
Version 6.0.401.1 seems the same as 5.0.396.0, maybe they just bumped the version number up? Or am I missing something obvious?
@Marktype on your chrome address bar "about:version" and you will see that they upgrade the WebKit from 533.8 to 533.9 and V8 from 2.2.7 to 2.2.9. These are some of the changes that I know...
Popups are still a miserable problem after the upgrade to 6.Embedded videos from YouTube and elsewhere should simply open in a new tab when clicked on but get resolved as a popup instead. The video is then thrown into the omnibox where you have to fish it out, open it in a new window, convert that window into a tab and drop it back into line with your other tabs.Utterly impractical.
Still won't render RSS?
Please morph the reload and the go button into one. The Reload Buttons doubles the functionality of the go button. You really don't need it twice. Instead move the Star back to the left. I like dragging the star down to the bookmarks, which is (in my opinion) nicer from the left, and actually doesn't work right now, with the star being on the right side.I'm okay with the rest.
Not included in the release notes.. This release included support for WOFF web fonts.
I know that I'll probably get yelled at for this, but please put the protocol back in the URL, or at least give me the option to switch it on or off. Without the protocol, it makes it very difficult for me to copy the URL to other applications. Also, I would like to be able to change the protocol (to file://, for example). There's my grumble for ya. Other than that, I love Chrome - totally love it.
Regarding my previous whinge about the removal of the protocol from Chrome's location bar: whoops - when you copy, it adds the protocol back. Sorry; I'm embarrassed now. I should think before I complain.
Any chance of getting the 'go' button back? Even just as an option?
