Bummer. I was hoping for Options in Tab to be in About:Labs in this version.

When do you think that'll make it onto the beta channel? I enabled it in Canary Build and rather like it!

If I were to guess, I think the "Options in tab" feature will only end up in Google Chrome 8 when it comes to beta and stable builds.

A lot of the work that's being done in 7.0 is largely not user facing and in some cases is a legitimate work in progress. With our new release cycle and about:labs, I'd suggest you stay tuned, things are going to start moving quite fast.

Cool, how about a summary of major changes between 6.0.472.63 and 7.0.517.24? Your last changelogs make me really sad.

based on the 6 week schedule, the chrome 7 stable should be coming in around a week. the major change would probably be the hardware acceleration.

What happened to the capability to hide the "Most Visited" and "Recently Closed" sites in the NEW TAB page ?

In my case, it is just so that family members sitting next to me do not get spoiled about presents I am buying them. But I am sure many Chrome users want to keep the Boss from seeing those sites when looking over their shoulder as they pass by.

And, in general, why is Google constantly removing features from their products ? This is far from the first time...

@Jonas N: I hope so. I thought Options in Tab was nice.

Speaking of about:labs, how about adding a link to it in the Extensions tab. That way those that aren't aware of it can find it. (Kind of like the --bookmarks-menu target flag that was removed because people didn't use it because people didn't know about it.)

It's an interesting decision to push it with http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=55954

Youtube full screen button does not work for instance for all users that got auto-updated...

Just to make it clearer:

When a friend and I are sitting down in front of my laptop, and I click on "New Tab", I do not want it displaying every site that I have visited recently.

If you polled Chrome users, I would bet my car that a majority would agree.

That does NOT mean that any large number will bother to complain about it. Some might just go back to Firefox - that would be the normal human response.

PS The Youtube full screen bug sounds like even more of a deal-killer, not to mention highly ironic since Google owns Youtube...

I agree. We must be able to turn off Most Visited and Recently Closed on New Tabs.

The design of the "New Tab" page becomes ugly. I don't want explicit lines of "Most visited" and "recently closed". What's the reason for changing to this? Please fix this. While your are making browser faster, please make sure the quality of the design.

Also I am still missing dynamic movement of tabs:drag-to-pin, and drag-to-unpin features. This makes Chrome unique and outstanding among all other browsers. But as "someone" didn't like it, then you turn off the whole features without considering the rest.

I'm still stuck on IE on my 1080p lcd because I cant change the default zoom for every page so the test isn't so small. On IE you can change the default zoom to 125% and it is very good to read with that. But on firefox and chrome there isnt a way to do that.

For those that have their panties in a bunch about the "most visited" and "recently closed" option, you can still use the Speed Dial extension where it will give you that option and also allow you to have more 8 pinned tabs on the New Tab page as well.

Windows Media Player and Flash Player integrated music modules are completely broken on ALL versions of Chromium and Google Chrome 7 (but work perfectly fine on Chrome 6, Firefox 4 or even IE8...). I hope these very annoying bugs will not reach the stable channel ! :(

I don't like Speed Dial extension and the new Tab page is simple and convenient to use. when using Speed Dial, how to display apps in future?
the pinned tabs on the New Tab page is not used to place your favorites websites because you could use bookmarks toobar(or button) instead. We don't need repeat functions. What we need is a better and more powerful new Tab page but not instead it with other pages.
The "recently closed" option is important to me.however, when using extensions to implement "recently closed" functionality,None of extensions could show each web page's favicon correctly because of limitation. Unless google provide a "recently closed" button on toobar , I 'm reluctant to cancel the "recently closed" option on new Tab page.
For those that hate the "recently closed" and "Most visited" options, you can edit custom.css file to hide them.

To QQ510371827:
The problem is there is no more "options" for controlling "Most visited" and "Recently closed".

Those two are just stuck on the New tab page.
