  • Easy access to tab switcher: Drag down from the toolbar to enter tab switcher
  • Draggable menu: Simply drag your finger to select the menu item you need
  • Side swipe on toolbar to switch tabs: You can now switch tabs by swiping left or right on the toolbar. To avoid accidental interaction with page content, we have disabled tab switching using side swipe on page content area
  • Easy zoom gesture: Zoom into your preferred magnification on any desktop web site by double tapping on the page and swiping your finger up-down without lifting it 
  • WebGL: A JavaScript API for rendering interactive 3D graphics and 2D graphics has been enabled by default
  • Device Motion: Web developers can access device acceleration and rotation rates via the device motion part of Device Orientation API

The Stable channel has been updated to 29.0.1547.57 (Platform version: 4319.74.0) for all Chrome OS devices (edited 8/23/2013: except the Lenovo Thinkpad X131e). This build contains a number of bug fixes, security updates and feature enhancements. Systems will be receiving updates over the next several days.

Some highlights of these changes are:
  • Kernel 3.8 landed on Pixel and Samsung 550. 
  • New “immersive” mode - hit the fullscreen button to hide the toolbar and shelf and until you hover at the top for a more immersive browsing experience. 
  • Pin apps to the shelf using Drag and Drop from the Launcher 
  • Default wallpaper selection will sync across all your devices 
  • Monitor Scaling allows you to scale the UI. Especially useful on Pixel to get some more space 
  • Two-finger history navigation 
  • App launcher Search just got cleverer 
    • It will dynamically learn what you search for 
    • Apps are more prominent 
    • It will search for you in the web store if you don’t have an app installed 
Known Issues: 
  • The link to redeem your Chrome Goodies in the Files app is temporarily broken and will be fixed with the next release. In the meantime, please go here directly.

  • Ability to reset your profile back to its original state
  • Many new apps and extensions APIs
  • Lots of stability and performance improvements
Security Fixes and Rewards
Note: Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix. This commonly occurs if the bug exists in a third party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed.
